switching system does hurt wallet, have switch from nikon to canon... 5D have drop to v.v comfortable range to get...but if u r into sport, think you better get 1d series lar... :D

I find it strange. If you've mastered your 30D you should know what is to be expected from 5D and D300. They're both good in diff aspects. To me 5D takes gorgeous portraits and weddings. But so can the 30D. While the D300 is like a machine gun, etc. Having used all the models above, I'd just stick to 30D and buy my gf something that can make her happy instead of changing to 5D, except it's a full frame. Unless you're really rich, then what the heck, flip a coin and get either one and sell off ur lens collection. lol..

wow... that's the best statement make so far

hi sir!
i think it's better to keep your old lenses...
changing system is waste of money... it's not about canon or nikon... it's about "use back your own lenses" coz selling 2nd hand lenses always lurgee one.. ( or you can sell to me cheap cheap if you insist to change d300 hehe )

Alright , thx for the adviced . I'l wait ... .

I own the 5D for quite some time already. I can say that i am very please with the performance and reliability. The full frame is a wonder, at least when i got it. When i tried the D300, its a different, very high tech compared with 5D. If you own an arsenal of EF-S lenses, then probably choosing the 5D wont make any sense since you have to sell & re-invest lenses of the same brand.

How about this...
Shooting alot with ISO 1600 and above, go for Nikon D300.
Else most situation less then ISO 1600 , go for Canon 5D.

:)
