help me choose!!!! give advices !!!

hey guys ... right now i'm getting a potrait lens ... there's two nikkor lens available for me to choose ... but i'm confused ~! so need ya help though :dunno:

either:
AF DC-NIKKOR 105mm f/2 D
AF DC-NIKKOR 135mm f/2 D

i've already checked out the prices ... the 105mm cost abt $1300 while the 135mm is abt $1600 ~

can u provide some advices or experiences for the both lens?

any reason why you wanted the either of the two lens for portraits? Have seen a used one in Ron's camera some time ago.

I have no experience with the two lens but i am using a Nikon AIS 105mm f2.5 manual focus lens for portraits. It was in a very mint condition and I paid abt $400 for it. A pro photographer friend also use this lens and he paid abt S$250. Recently saw one similar pc in TCW.

I like to use it because it gives me control over the focus. Using AF sometimes won't lock on the point that I want and I always have to focus lock and recompose. That's why I chose a manual lens. Also it was a relatively cheap option and the lens was light.

The lenses that you have is more than adequate to cover the range that you want. Unless you want a prime lens for portraits as primes are generally lighter than zoom lens.
Otherwise it is no point spending the $$ on it.
