Hi, I am looking for a portable HDD video camera.

Budget is maximun SGD1.5K.
Easy to use.
Decent battery life.
Min 24 FPS. (Should be around there for a smooth video)
Prefered with long optical zoom and big aperture (think video camera also use aperture ba).

I am a decent user for camera and a total liability for video camera, so I am not sure of the fuctions of video camera. BTW I am helping my friend to scout for one and seriously hope some guru of video camera is able to recommand one to me. I apologise if the details is poor as I am really a newbie and thank you for those able to recommand one to me.

Sorry for wrong info, found http://www.canon.com.sg/personal/pr...-camcorders/legria-hf-r18#specificationAnchor and it happens to have inbuilt 32gb memory.

Sorry didn't write it out in full. Don't buy a HDD cos it may have a shorter lifespan if you mishandle the camcorder. My Legria uses SDHC and I brought mine to Alaska and Sub-Sahara and it still perform beautifully after so much abuse. In Africa I drop the camcorder from a camel to the floor and it works as if nothing happened. I can't say the same if the inside is a HDD.

Best of all you can get the HiDef version for less than $1100.

Ya, but my boss wants a inbuilt memory one. Anyway the canon site wrote that it is flash memory inbuilt, so should be ok. Thanks for the concern anyway :)

HDD or flash it doesnt matter, built in memory is not recommended. when u wanna transfer the footage out of the cam, u MUST connect the camera to a power source and that is very annoying. imagine rushing to transfer files for a meeting on the go or smth and u cant transfer.. SD cards are cheaper and if u run out of space, switch them out.
