Ok, a big THANK YOU to everybody for your comment/advice, I have turely learned a lot for all of you. I have decidied on what to get and will head down to the shop later in the evening. Machas gracias!

One more last important question which is really noob. What should I look out for when buying a DSLR? How to properly test out a DSLR? Should I also test the dead pixels on both the LCD and CCD? how to go about that? What to check in the mirror/prism? All this I dunno how to do leh :embrass:

This is already covered in the other thread you just started.

Focus motor also not there for 400D.. ;p

400d doesn't need a focus motor. All canon lenses have motors inside. Nikon lenses however do not have the motor in the body except for AF-S lenses. That is why d40 and d40x can only use AF-S and singma HSM lenses greatly reducing the lenses available to you. Unless of course you intend to manual focus all the way....

why is it so? I hear the nikon RAW program cost $$$ too. You mean the out in RAW from Nikon is easier to use or the pix quality is better? Which one you meant?

I think he means that the d80 can shoot more raw at 3fps before the buffer fills up and the camera slows down.
