help! canon eos300v VS. nikon f80D

wanna buy a SLR ..
but hard to decide which one to buy, pls help.
1. canon eos 300v, 28-105mm
2.nikon f80(D) , 28-205mm.

what are the differences between the two?

Nikon or Canon. Which is better?

I think no one has the correct answer.

Shouldn't you be comparing Nikon F80 and Canon Eos 30? They are of the same class.

Maybe you would like to state the type of photography you are interested in.

If F80 VS EOS300V, and budget no concern, of course is f80


If F80 Vs EOS30, of course EOS30

yah loh ... these two cameras that u mentioned cannot be compare lehz ... i used both before eos 300 and f80 ... if u wanna compare eos 300, maybe u can compare with f65 ....

In terms of pricing and function...

eos 300v vs f75 vs minolta dynax 5
eos 30 vs f80 vs minolta dynax 7

As of what you heard.... eh.... I also heard about Minolta is best;p

As the sub-forum here tells you, canon, nikon, minolta have their own supporters when comes to slr.

Best is to try out the various camera at the shop, find out what lens you want to get and then get one and start shooting!

haha...yup, weight and outside looking are in consideration. because when u use it, feel more shuang if u got a cuter cam in hand lor...
wanna my no. hehe.. r u rich? hansome? dashing? considerable? romantic?....

saw many posts on other forums abt canon and nikon, abt eos300v, 30, f80.
one Q is : can give some comparisons on lens and accessaries between canon and nikon?

there is no right and wrong and can argue til heaven come....
i think at teh ned of the day performance wise really hand to justify so to each his own.. hold and feel teh cam and see which one appeals to you. lens and accessories are pretty standard for both..

one more Q: how abt tamron lens, they are adaptable to all nikon single reflection cam. Tamron lens are half cheaper than nikon lens but have the same effect n quality. iz it?:dunno:

Buy 300v. cost under $700 with dry box. Lens is good and sharp. Cam is light and easy to carry esp for travelling.

do you need those added functions in f80 over eos300v?
if not, eos300v is real good, and not to mention cute, as u had mentioned.

EOS300V definitely the cutest among film slr(for gals of course)

heee... u go to and post your question in Nikon forum and u will get even more F80D recommendation.... just a matter of where u post ur questions. :bsmilie:

still don't understand, if u go and ask a Mac user what computer to buy, of course they will tell u to buy Mac and not Windows PC. Got it?

Anyway test both camera out at the shops. Read the specs and see which one suit u at the best price.

I don't think there is anything wrong in wanting to buy a tamron lens.

Your choice of lens depends on what kind of photography you want to to into.

If its just general shooting - I think the tamron 28-200mm is good enuf as its cheaper than the nikon one.

Just curious - why r you considering the F80 & not the F75?
