Too much clothes?:bsmilie:
but seriously.. the photo doesn't work for me. The hands are too unnatural for me. Supposed to look sexy? feel sexy? have that sort of "oops" feel? HOWEVER, your face is too relaxed.. The contradiction in expression makes it feel funny..
Makes me wonder, is she trying to be sexy, show that she's enjoying herself, relaxing, carefree, or what?? :dunno: The photo has got no specific feel..
The background doesn't help either way.. the structure on the left is abit... strange. doesn't fit into any of the mood that might be conveyed.. The unnatural PS doesn't help in anyway, should have left the darkened edges out.

heh let me leave u with this quote that I've seen before.. I need to go study for my exam..
"If you consider yourself a photographer, take a second to think about your work.
The camera is a fairly easy tool to operate; it's not about clicking that damn button.
Think. Imagine. Plan. Feel. Express. Shoot.
I'll give you a tip that works for me. Before you click that button, give a title to the shot you are about to take. If you don't have a title, don't shoot.
That will create a state of mind when you always be thinking of the ideas of that you do, of what exactly is it that makes you want to take a photograph."
Read this from somewhere online. forgot where. Whatever, but it makes good sense to me. I'm trying to work with this mentality nowadays..

camera : a tool that captures moments of beauty, but it is the photographer that make it work! without the pressing of shutter button, there will never be a photo!
four key principles to learn:
1) holding the camera properly and efficiently.
2) standing stance / kneeling stance (very important to stablize better)
3) control your breathing / pressing shutter button at right time
4) how to use flash in different situation (sunny outdoors or low-light indoors)
JoanneC said:I think the overall of this pic is quite "conservative"!
I believe there have nothing is can be escaped from the basic nature's rule of Universe(Seems I am not straight forward enough as the other members does....). Ok, the basic nature of universe and so do for the human is----people love to see the beautiful thing and woman, it would naturally draw people's attention cause it catches their eye when before they looking into the details, so you get what I want to say now?
The styling of the model is too "busy", like her hair(long straight and tidy's hair is preferable) and the so much layers of clothing(Simple style with same colour tone's clothing would be better). Also, the colour of the clothing and the background is the same, so it's hardly to outstanding the model("main visual") as it was merged with the background already.
So what I suggest for this point is--- you could enhance the brightness for the lighting from the front of LHS and to reduce the brightness of the back that to increased the contrast and richness for the pic. Also, put the tracing paper in front of the lamp would make the pic be more natural and look more "cold", because this pic is should be applied by the "cold colour tone", but not the "warm colour".
Well, it's just my little sharing, I still a newbie on photography and in learning!
