so what's your opinion of this lens? You didn't really 'said' enough of its performance? and of course, did you eventually buy the lens? :)

hmm technically, i think it looks to be quite good. my understanding is that the lens is made up of the same glass as the older LTM version so there's lots of samples floating around already. i was using agfa vista 200 film, not exactly the most resolving power film, but seems to me that sharpness was no issue for the lens and my photos at f5.6 looked quite decent. one thing that i was rather surprised with was the lack of very visible light falloff in my photos and also distortion is quite well controlled (for a 12mm of course). that said, i don't really have very much experience with these lenses so its just my comparison with what i have played with before (mainly a zenitar fisheye and efs 10-22, used to be a canon dslr user)

very tempting, but mr ho only accepts cash, nets, visa and mastercard payment. unfortunately he sadly informed me that he doesn't accept backside payment :dunno: too bad, maybe i should post a WTS backside on the classifieds first so as to raise funds. hahaha.

i wonder if it's me, or it's the photo. but when you stare hard and focus the center of #1, it seems to be spinning. hahaha

tx for sharing ur opinion bro...

nice shots joo. and that 1s was really well done. i probably would have taken the risk using a dslr, but with an RF and film, very hard to make it count.

yt.

An excellent piece of glass. I had to hold off getting it till the M-mount version came along because I use a M8 (needed the UV/IR). Now that I can use it I can capture so much with it. Traditionally, the widest lens I've been using has been a 35mm, so I have been looking at getting a ultra wide or semi ultra wide for a while - clearly I decided to go ultra wide ;)

Usage-wise hyper-focusing still works best, even at 5.6 where the depth of field is still pretty much limitless in normal conditions, I'll work on getting some of my first shots up soonish.

I think this is an excellent lens, solid build quality, nice precise aperture clicks, the original view finder is a real beauty and I'm very, very very happy with it - but please take note that with my camera crop factor, I'm only effectively using a 16mm). One minor complaint is I find the focus action a little stiff, but thats just me :)

Ok first night of shooting samples on M8 (16mm)
