Toothless Tiger

isn't it a coincidence that they are talking abt taking bk the airspace while the haze is around?

Is it a blackmail?
Divert attention .

How is this 'Divert Attention' when EVERYONE knows the haze will be back yearly since at least 1997... :bsmilie:

It's blackmail coz they can burn more if we don't give airspace

There is NOTHING to 'give'... since the airspace over Batam, Bintan and the whole of Riau by right, does belong to Indonesia. What 'rights' have SG to said to give or not to give the airspace back to Indonesia ??

What the Indonesian wants... is the Control of their airspace be rightfully return to them. Which they have every right to do so...

It is an international concern for safety reason .

So that makes it alright for us to ignore Indonesia sovereignty over their own airspace... you sure that's the excuse you're going to use to explain why SG isn't going to hand over Indonesia airspace control to Indonesian...

Certainly not. They must had agreed in the first place. They must honoured it. If they wanted to take it back, go to the table again.

Never trust our neighbours

Everybody remember, Jakarta said this problem needs US$60 mil (in 2006) to solve. :bsmilie:

From what I know... the airspace has been under our control since 1946... do we have some sort of 'agreement'... I'm not sure... but are you sure we have some sort of agreement with them regarding controlling matters over their airspace forever ??

I can understand sometimes government cannot openly review the discussions with other countries tries even though they talk rubbish.

However, this is about health of the people. Everyone deserves the right to know what so difficult to stop the burning. Not general.statement. all suggestions must be answered. We have rights to take actions if they are not doing anything. 3 years is not acceptable.

What rights do you think Singapore has? (Taking it that 'we' refers to Singapore as country.)

I very much would like to know what 'Actions' do you suggest we should/could/would take if Indonesia really take 3yrs or more to settle this burning problem ??
