Have a look at my video

Hi All,

Please check out the video I made. I shot all footages with my Sony Nex 7 and edited it with Adobe Premiere and Twixtor. The slow-mo bit is not very good as I am still very new to Twixtor. Still a noobie. ;)

But I had a blast making the video!

All comments are welcome.

Pretty all right. :)

- I like the picture style from 00:10 - 01:13. Nice.
- I may be wrong, but which part is the slow mo. If it is at this speed, I dun think you need to use twixtor. Depending on your frame rate, you can actually modify your frame rate to lower frame rate to do the slow mo. OR you could adjust your speed clip. Can be done in Premiere Pro.
- You could slow mo with twixtor when the RC cars jump. Bring it down to 20% - 30%. That will be awesome. You have to shoot in 60fps.
- I was hoping to see more couple of close ups to the RC cars racing on the dirt. That would be nice.

I must say, the video was very nice. Good Job! Keep them coming! With your videos, you could expose me to the world of RC buggies.

:)

Thanks for the comments, Daniyal. Glad you liked it!

The Twixtor slow mo is actually at 4:46, 4:51 and 4:54.

I shot them at 50fps and then I interpret the footage at 25fps, thus you see the buggies move at half the speed. The slow mo portions are actually down to 10% with Twixtor.

I only had 1 hour to shoot the videos as I was in a hurry. When I went home to watch the footage, I realized I didn't have any low and close-up shots. Kinda regretted not staying longer.

I just wanted to create something with my Nex7 and will look for more video opportunities. I'm sure I will be making another one very soon! :D

I liiikkkee!!!
I love the grading. But if I were you I will use fast-cut editing to make it more dynamic, especially at the racing part..!

BTW where / when is this event??

You could be right. I chose to use static shots because my plan was to use slow-mo to highlight the movements and the "bumpiness" of the buggies. If they were 2-wheelers, I would definitely use a faster cut and more dynamic panning.

The event is just one of the many rounds of Sunday races at Bottle Tree Park. I don't own any rc cars though, just took the videos for the fun of it.

Nice compositions there! Be careful of B&W videos, the whites might sometimes get hot and overexpose. example on 0:53. Also the choice of music is wrong :p next time choose the right music for the right place. (This one sounds like in france or italy)

Thanks for your comments!

I am playing around with monochrome in a video, so I have more to learn.

I am glad you recognize the music as French. It's actually chosen on purpose, to represent the French Indochina era.

Hi Everyone!

I was in Mumbai a week back and I took some time off to go around the city.

This is the video I made. All videos were shot hand-held with my Sony Nex-7. I really have to get myself one of those stabilizers!

Please feel free to comment!
