Hey guys, I've been shooting with a H3DII-31 on a job, always got firewire error 9002 prompting me to restart camera after shooting 65 images on phocus, read other sources claiming needing a "firewire repeater hub" to power up the backs, not sure how reliable and got no idea does Singapore sell that thing. Is there any way to stop this error from popping out and stop making me keep on plug out cables, batteries and restart software? and keep a consistent flow of shooting? I need to hear insights! Appreciate any thoughts!

I used to have the 31. This sounds familiar. I think the problem went away when I upgraded my MacBook Pro. When I was shooting w the H4D-40. Such problems also persists. Sigh...

Now I no longer have any Hasselblad.

I'm using the very last batch MacBook Pro (Non-Retina) 15" Mid-2012, Intel i7 model before it discontinued.
Some say the MacBook Pro's FireWire port has not enough sufficient volt to power up the back and stuff, and some said I shoot too fast the back cannot take it?
My speed of shooting tethered is once photo transferred, shows up on screen, heard the ready sound and green light then up for the next shot, like 5-10 seconds afterwards.
As I don't machine gun obviously it can't.
So I assume it's normal for any H system to react this way?

Yes. The file transfer is the one that causes this. Additional RAM helps or shooting into iMac w a sold graphics card helps. Using a shorter cable helps.

That's why some pros do small chats, kick a big fuss on some details but in reality, they know the system cannot take the speed. It's more embarrassing to hang in front of the client also. Haha.

Wait till u see Mamiya and Leica S2 hang up also. Haha. Anyway the newer system w newer computers handles this better.

I manage to solve the problem by downgrading the Phocus software, and no more such problems, there are still some hiccups but it only occurs when shooting too fast the connection could not handle a lot at once.

Does anybody uses the thunderbolt to FireWire adapter to tether their H system on a retina iMac (non-5k)? I've encountered which is while shooting my raw files became green in color and the same problem exist again from here shot less than hundred frames got error. This came when I'm using the latest software, had not tried downgrading it back to see if the problem persists coz the adapter is not with me. Need to hear different experiences from CS-ers who uses the same stuff I did.

Hi, I've a Hasselblad 500cm with a dim focusing screen (with split prism) and I struggle to focus. I am thinking of getting an Acute Matte-D split screen with grid lines as well as a non-meter prism (I use a few iPhone light metering apps and they are brilliant, failing which my Sekonic comes to rescue). Does anyone have any advice/experience on what combination may enhance my shooting experience? I do enjoy medium format and the Hasselblad 500cm but the out of focus results are dampening.

brighter screen doesn't mean will make it easier to focus but it will make the experience of using the camera more enjoyable, prism viewer is a better choice if you want to better focusing
