Mr. Wong of Fotografix is reopening today - 11.11 am on 11.11.11 .
Lets wish him all the best and 11 good buying customers a day !

Tested the H4D40 yesterday at Shriro house.
Great camera and alot of improvement since the H3D31 that I used whilst in Australia .
Good balance even with the big lenses.
Liked the HTS 1.5x tilt shift adapter that can be used with all lenses .
Would probably go 28, 50 ,80 , 120 mm.
Would love the 300 mm but probably hardly use.
So, any one has a 300mm to let go ?

We can now order a CFV 50 for $ 23k before 7%gst for the 503cw , 501 ,500 , 555, 553 to go digital and make use of the old V zeiss lenses again.
Yeah !

Yeah !

Just to check can the C lenses i use on my 500c mount on the H series bodies?

Thanks

Yes you can but you need to get the V-to-H lens adaptor.

Oh thanks!
..and are these easily available and cost effective? instead of spending 23k on a back for a 500C i might as well buy a H3D or something for about 30K..and use my old lenses if i am really keen?

Actually , a H4D 31 with HC 2.8,80mm lens ( kit set ) is $18k .
A used H3D 31 kit could be about $12k .
With the adapter , you can start to use all the good old lenses .
Some will look better than others , but you would be able to decide which better old lens to keep.

Hi Guys !

That sounds like an excited H4D user in delibrium after the new firmware upgrade !

H4D 40 and new H4D50 users recieved a nice present from Hasselblad .
The latest Hasselblad Bulletin had a free new firmware upgrade for thier H4Ds.
( features from the H4D60 ):-

Sensor unit firmware R500 and camera body unit firmware 2.2.4 for the H4D released some exciting new features.

Amongst other refinements these included...

- Rear LCD Resolution Boost ( much better sharpness )
- Camera grip info also displayed on the rear LCD,
- Two Directional Spirit Level.

Those not able to do this upgrade themselves can make an appointment with Shriro or get it done at HUG 6th Dec.

How to update the new firmware on the Hasselblad H4D

1. go to the link and download the new firmware H4D-40 & H4D-50
2. open Phocus on your computer, plug in the firewire to the H4D and your computer ,
3. go to the top left tap on your computer and select the file tap, you will see the Firmware update, select it and follow the instruction , done

Decembers HUG was fun .
Dr Khoos Talk on travel was interesting .
It showed how a great camera could help a normal photographer look good .
( Most of the time he shoots in program mode ! )
Clifford talked about some Technicalities ( Too chim for me )
The H4Dx on display looked like a good upgrade for the H1,H2 users.
Linda , who takes care of the Zeiss lenses for testing was nice .
Bryan Kit Foongs MPA set was good and his tips were helpful .
The 4 models Maple , Amelia , Nataree and Bin were swee !

Thank Shriro for the tasty food by Jack and the Manfrotto Bag Lucky Draw prizes.
See you guys next HUG !
