Even though I prefer to shoot only interiors , I would not mind seeing what another expert in his field has to show.
Be it a wedding , underwater or pastry photographer .

Anyway , HUG gatherings are never with any heavy sales pitches.
You buy what you can afford.

I think we have had speakers from portrait ( William Ng ) , fashion ( Skye Tan , Zhang Jinna) , Architecture ( Edward Hendricks ) , Food ( Lim Eng Teck ) and Commercial ( Edward Loh , Ken Seet , Edwin and Teck , Eujin Goh , Luke Batholomew ) .

Sorry if I missed out any speakers who had willing shared their knowledge.

It would be nice to see how a wedding photographer does his stuff .

My apologies. You are right. I was thinking too narrow. Hasselblads are used in many different fields :)

Besides the Marcus Bell Talk on the 26th November 2010 , ( 4-5 pm and Demo ( 6-8 pm ) there is the Shriro Photo Festival .There will be booths from 2 pm , displaying Gitzo , lastolite , tamrac , zeiss , apple . HP , Polaroid and Hasselblad ( a H4D 31 may arrive in time ). Special Demo units will be on offer .

Hi, sorry for the interruption, had being using 35mm DSLR camera and films.Today, will like to learn something new about Medium format.
1.What to look for and start with this kind of medium format camera?
2.What are the pro and cons that will emerge when are totally new at it?
3.Will the shooting be the same as the 35mm Dslr?
4.Kindly advice the cost with a bare minimum starting of this format camera.
Thanks in advance for all the input from all the experts and Pro.:embrass:

The Marcus Bell Talk was great ! My friends and I had a really good time .
The Shoot demo was enlightening .
The sales items were affordable .
The food was good .
The crowd was friendly , especially Eujin , Pat , John Yuen , Pamela , Guek (from SAFRA) , Danny ( from JB Milan wedding studio )
And , the entertainer who put it all together - Denis the man.
Anyway , some pictures from H4D40 :-

is someone gg to write a review on the talk? haha...

For Angelbaby ,

1. The Medium format is an extension of the 35mm . It is for some , an avenue after mastering and owning the best that the 135mm format can offer.
The expectation is that it will deliver images much better than what a 135mm format camera can offer.
Enlargements , exposure and dynamic latitude surpasses.
2. Buy the best MF ( my view also because it was the best MF SYSTEM by TIPA ) and only from reputeable sources .
3. The shooting style will have to change because of the shape and , the optimum aperture is probably around F11/16 , no longer F5.6/8.0.
4. The entry level would probably be a H4D31 , 31 million pixels , 33x44 sensor size , 1.2 sec/frame , 16 bit colour depth , 9 f stops exposure latitude and costing $ 20,000 .

Hi,

I do not think the optimal aperture has for medium format lenses in general increased to F11/F16?

As that would mean much stopping down considering these lenses open up, up to F2 for some lenses.

I will take 2 stops from wide open for the given optimal lens performance imho..

Thanks for the information, really great to learn that the highlight on the camera shooting behaviour was different from the 35 mm Dslr. That's really help.I will gather more inforamtion of the MF before jumping into it. Thanks and regard.

Hey Pchong , must show us the watch shoot pictures when you get back .
Especially the reverse umbrella technique in your picture.

That is Danny from Milan Bridal rushing to go back to JB !
Maybe someone should tell him to release the stand before trying to take off . :sweatsm:

Here's a shot that Dennis doesn't want people to know about - him doing his shameless modster poses.
Check out his wheelie... (rear must be heavy enough to attempt a wheelie...) ;p
