I think color space when shot should be Adobe RGB, work in Adobe RGB, and last step is to convert to sRGB. Just maybe, since I always shoot in digital with Adobe RGB as color space.

I realised the background was having some grey patches, is it because of the jpeg conversion is not able to handle such big file, or the back drop is grey? :dunno:
