I love Hasselblad. But anyone proposing it to their school need to do it with care... :bsmilie:

STOMP - Singapore Seen - National Parks officer suspended over $57,200 purchase of foldable bikes

When asked.... just say the following...

"Providing students with high resolution equipment was thought to be a simple and effective way to raise student's photography skill and productivity as it enables the student to cover more ground and do less cropping within the same time."

"It would eliminate the need for the school to upgrade cameras from 12 megapixel to 31 megapixel for a few years".

"It looks like ABC school has bought the right equipment!";)

Hasselblad Hero program finally landed in SG.

obviously this programme is not targeted at the usual rank-and-file MOE schools... a photographer friend of mine has called in to enquire. the school has to be a photography school, and the teachers/students need to be teaching photography or are holding student-ids that shows that they are photography students. all these in mind, basically we are talking abt probably TP's mass comm's diploma programme or NTU's school of communications.

so dun assume all schools in SG are that corrupt or crazy-minded to take up this offer. no school principal i know of will ever approve this purchase for their photography societies, assuming that they even qualify for the offer in the first place.

its simply over the budget allocated and the purchase cannot be justified.

however, one can probably buy it on their own personal capacity. ;p

BUY BUY BUY!!!

I love Hasselblad, but after seeing this thread, I just had respond...

This is like going to Bukit Batok Driving Centre and offering brand new Rolls Royce Phantoms to all instructors and students at a discount price of ONLY $900,000 compared to the standard sticker price of $1.5 million.

Its a nice gesture but after doing lotsa research, decided to not make the jump.

Probably too expensive for poor me! Kekeke
