6800 not ultra or GTS?? then as well at X800Pro

6800Ultra power requirement is VERY high...u need at least 450W PSU and u need two delicated power connectors. It is hot and take up two slots, but of cos it is fast too

It's either x800 256mb vs Geforce 6800 128mb (not ultra or GTS)...they're at $750 and $545 respectively.

What's the recommendation?

Anyway, my bet with ATI. Not as power hungry as teh 6800 but fast. Well let wait for our good ole Wai to give some of us a bit of review on it.

my goodness, all over 400, i tot 300++ can get already.
my power supply is 450W. have 2 big fan sucking in/out for air circulation.
So when my pc is on, like wind is blowing. anyway, 6800 seems out of my list due to the heat. will end up very hot in the room. So ATI really that gd these days? can really see signaficant change compare with Geforce4200Ti and x800??

Great...later i go plug in a X800XT and try on my apple display, never try playing CS in wide screen before

All the while i thought cannot, so I only played on a normal 20" LCD ;p

With X800XT, P4-2.4 & 1GB ram, I can manage 70-100fps at 1680 x 1050 with quality and anti-aliasing set to max. But the frame rate do drop to 50 and below in complex scene or when smoke was used

i just set the resolution to that i didnt change anything
no lag

i think if i set everything to max, should be real laggy

The graphics are already amazing as it is

It seems that there are alot of servers but very little people playing. In the US servers, its always empty.

Maybe when half life 2 officially releases, it'll have more people.

There are few local servers, pretty fast, i am using ADSL and get abt 20ms
