HARVEY NORMAN CHRISTMAS PROMO

I found a cheaper place that sell the akasui 40 litre dry cabi. It cost $136 @ SLR which is priced lower compared to Cathay photo $150. Damn Cathay photo accessories price are all marked up, have to look at other sources for cheaper and good deal. :c

just bought a cam from harvey norman... d7000+kit+3 yrs extended warranty+2x 16GB/8GB memory card+tripod+extra battery+UV filter, is it high enough for $2400? i know i won't take the time back but just wanted to know if i got a good deal or not? i paid via CC for 6 months though and learn a lesson from there... hihi..

You paid abt $600 extra for 3 yrs warranty, a 16GB memory card and an extra 3rd party (most likely) battery. Do I think it's worth it? No way... But megastore is the common place to get extended warranty, if this suits you then it's ok.

Well... if CP is the main distributor for any particular brand, it is possible that the price they are selling to consumer like us is more expensive. They will have a distribution price to other shops to take the brand goods from them, thus other shops is able to sell cheaper. If they sold the goods to other shops who are ordering in bulk as expensive as what they sold us, then they might not get to sell the brand at all... and soon will lose the distributorship from the parent company.

i don't dispute that there are commercial norms that they must abide by... this is an inherent complexity for businesses who are both retailers AND distributors. on the one hand, need to be accountable to their corporate customers, on the other hand, need to be competitive in their retail business.

anyway, i dun want to appear to be sliming any particular shop :) they do sell lots of cool stuff and they have their overheads.

i'm just happy that customers like us have choices :) its ultimately up to the individual to do their homework and buy from the shop that offers them the best deal.

Seems like a VERY high price to me. Again, you did not do proper research before buying...

yeah.. it was a mistake.. actually i went to some few stores at funan and ended up at HV for this exteded warranty thingy.. anyway, the free extra battery is the original nikon one.

Not going to rub salt into wound... even with original nikon battery, it is still awfully expensive... however, since you already buy the kit, then forget about what everyone had said and enjoy your purchase. It is a good purchase, the camera is good, the lens is good, and 3 years warranty is good... plus you got a original nikon battery (not being sarcastic)... just a friendly reminder, next time, do your homework, sent out requests for quotation, then get the one cheapest in the range.
