A question to the photographers who shot at Clarke Quay:

Did you have to apply for permit to shoot there?

Some years ago, I did a casual photo shoot there without any big lights or crew and was told by an employee that I can't shoot photos (basically "bug off").

Also, there's this issue that the signboards of some restaurants/shops can't be pictured.

Clarke Quay is supposed to be public area yeah?
Futhermore it's a tourist attraction right?

To me, it's like "Come to the zoo but leave your camera at the counter."

Anyone knows whether we can shoot at Holland V as well?
I would guess the reasons for not permitting shoots at Clarke Quay to be the same as those of Holland V.

Colour GOOOO DDDDDD ~~~!!!!!~~~~~ UP UP more Pic pls ..

Clarke Quay is not public area per se, remember? The last time we shot with your friend Sandra, the security guard came over and said we had to get permission from DBS Land. As I recall DBS Land did an $80M project to revitalise Clarke Quay (you remember the old Clarke Quay right, the not very happening one?), so perhaps they got a lease from the landlord (could be the govt, could be a private landlord) and thus they now own the place, at least as far as photography is concerned.

Shooting in the cafe (like sitting on the deck chairs, etc) is definitely on someones' property and hence must get permission. However, shooting in public areas (like the bridge connecting Riverside point to Clarke Quay) is probably all right (I doubt DBS Land's rights extend to the bridge or other public areas)

I dunno why. But i find myself coming back more to look at the photos of lovely Haley. haha is this some kinda young adult thing? :bsmilie:

Contrary to the mass opinion, most shots don't work for me. Every face pose is almost the same, with hair tucked behind right ear. That ear literally pops up in front of my eyes on every shot. Either shift the camera sideways, or model tilts head so the shots are not so upfront, or hide ear with hair. Only person who can get away with big ears is Prince Charles. :)

That's weird. Most people find Prince Charles' ears to be like championship cup handles, ie they stick out like a sore thumb or two.

I do agree that Haley should move beyond the "smile sweetly" shots, but hey, real good makeup, costumes, art direction and concept costs $$, more than the average CS-er shoot at least.

;) you missed my point. His ears do stick out but his royal status overshadows that.
I remembered he went through surgery to pull them back a little. And yes, the make up is patchy on the cheeks and forehead area.

When they got married in 1983, and esp in the late 90's, most people felt the Prince looked like an overweight clown, whereas Diana looked like a true princess who became more elegant and beautiful over the years.

yoooohoooooo.. the "ear thing" is the photographers suggest de!! they 1 me 2 tuck 1 side of the hair behind the ear. 2 show the accessories. if not wats the point of wearing them in the 1st place. =P

wow, 50mm can give such unreal bokeh. What aperture were you shooting at?wide open? I never saw bokeh like that with the 50mm for 3/4 body shots.

I agree with all that Haley has a great smile.
You go, girl!
