One more death today. Scared yet?

i will not be afraid of the pestilence which stalks in the dark.

1000 may fall at my side and 10000 at my right , it will not come near me . i will only be a spectator . i will be satisfied with long life

The bird flu is still mutating, and once it hit human to human transmission.... it will be an epidemic.... like the 1918 Spanish Flu that killed 50 to 100 million of them—3 to 5 percent of the world's population at that point of time.

With modern air travel and air conditioning.... imagine how many would perished????

There's also report that some people have drug resistance flu and medication like tamiflu cannot help too.......

Errr... this is 1918 Flu called a Pandemic.... epidemic is every year.

Did you know that the 2009-10 Flu was also a Pandemic. Yup.

New one. No cure and no vaccine. Seems not easily transmitted. Don't know why again from PRC.

This is reported and therefore cannot be false. BUT the big question is why in China and yes, again? surely China is not the most backward country in the world with big population, I am sure India, Indonesia, Africa, etc are equally densely populated and hygiene is always a challenge.

I next look at the weather. Could it be the weather that cause them since it seems to happening during the colder seasons. However, then why it spread to the hotter zones like Singapore or we are not affected?

Could it be due to the country? Today, everything centre around China and definitely more focus. People within travels more and if there is anything, it spreads faster than other not so developed countries. News also spread much faster and they draw more attention. If a similar case happen in a ulu place in a small town or island in a 3rd world country, I don't think the outside world will ever get to know even a few died. Eventually, the virus will not get to spread since there is no human around but lingers around. I guess that is what happens in the old days.

We Singaporean must pride ourselves as a Clean Country. Hygiene is very important and we have done a great job in pursuing this for a while. Unfortunately, we are slipping away and focusing on wrong things now. It is about time our NEA wakes up and stops farming out this duties.
