what's an ordinarily-priced film that is black&white and grainy to give the "old" look?

Is there any recommended shop in singapore that i can send a roll of non C41 B&W film for development and printing and be able to produce reasonably good looking B&W prints?

try P3200 then send to a lousy dev lab........:D :D :D

P3200 - ISO 3200? sounds expensive!
and send to a lousy lab? serious? what will the effect be?

what are the prices for B&W film? like those mentioned above?
B&W sounds expensive. development cost is more?

which are the good labs and which are the bads? Konata is ok?

Buy Max 400. Underexpose 1 stop. Process as normal. Scan the negs. Convert to B&W. tada! Arty-farty grainy B&W.

:bsmilie: :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

Kodak's attitude is why I stopped using their films, and switched to Ilford (B&W) and Fuji (colour). It takes a while to get used to a film... and bang! Kodak discontinues it. Eg : Ektapress (PJ) series, replaced very soon by Supra, now Supra is discontinued. E100VS/E100S, been around for just a few yrs, now soon replaced. Morons.

i try it when i was in KL...but to my standard ,its quite lousy on the quality but has a nice old grainy effect .......its more than 3 yrs ago......on a visit to my grandma's place.....:D

p3200 - i asked Ruby, they said HAR?
what brand is it? and must send to lousy lab? what happens if u send to good lab?

Tri-X - so it's out of stock huh, then i can forget it.

So if these 2 aren't available and kodakmax400->photoshop isn't feasible for me, what else can i get for that grainy old look?

Ron's Cameras at Adelphi basement has lots of Tri-X for sale. Actually i think that's the only brand he sells...... look behind in the shelves where he sits and its all there.
