I share your sentiments ...but life's too short to have any regrets, live it to the fullest everyday that you can.

Who knows, when the A77 finally gets released and it is really that good, you can always 'downgrade' :bsmilie: (but I seriously doubt that, once you've handled an A850 or A900) :bsmilie:

Hehe. Why not, the A77 can replace my A55 as my videodslr. :p

btw bro, if u can, should try get it too. U will find all dslr ovf is nothing once u looked into a A850/900.

Did consider once and handled a buddy's A850 with SAL-70-200 F2.8 ...but found the AUW not to my liking :(

Oh well, maybe might reconsider when the A900 replacement arrives in 2012

for the next 10 days from now the firmware upgrade for A850/900 is coming to town.. ::

is this true? i couldn't find in google that the firmware will come anytime this nov. i hope it's real soon.

very reliable source mentioned the long awaited A850/900 firmware upgrade will focus on 4 aspects such extended exposure compensation (+/- 5 EV), Without Lens release option on menu, Improved autofocus performance (hoping like A33/55 for low light)

;p

This site? Everyone still seems to have their doubts though.

In any case, most users will be nice boys and girls while waiting for the release ;)

All have being waiting since Feb this year so most of them are skeptical.

If it really arrives then kudos to Sony for still providing support to it's currently neglected FF line.

just got mine few weeks back too :p no time to have fun with it though.. cause in the army :(

using a 28 - 85 mm minolta now

Dun worry, if new fw release by dec, then its really a big christmas present from sony for us to go shooting happily.

Min 28-85 is a nice lens, affordable yet good IQ but not easy to find good copy nowadays.

Another great stuff is min 28-135 and tamron 24-135, both are great walkaround FF lenses while affordable.

i ish poor nsf :( so buy 28 - 85 .. next time then slowly upgrade

After testing a day of my A850 with the Tamron 28-75, I think the issue is probably the copy of lens I got is not sharp (centre) at F2.8, but once stopped down a little to F3.2, the centre gets really sharp and once hit F4, its razor sharp.

Maybe my expectation is a little too high? Cos my 17-50 is already quite sharp at F2.8 of all focal length.

Anyway, with the new 24MP beast, I can really see all the details on my screen like never before!!! OMG, I should have bought this camera long time ago!

I think next week Sitex should be a good venue for me to think of upgrading my oldie laptop (Still Pentium dual core btw) to the latest powerful processor with a adequate graphic card and RAM, not to forget must have really lots of HDD space....a simple xtra fine jpeg can go up till 20mb per file....:bigeyes:

But then, its worth it, A850 has really OPENED up my eyes to the wonderful details that FF can bring.....

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

bro check wif u can u use ur 17-50 wif ur A850? cause was temting to get 1 too as i only own a 50,,F1.4 which is for FF the rest is 18-250 and 17-50 tammy

Yes bro can use but it will go to crop mode which is 11mp.

If u really going FF, i suggest u sell off the 1750 and 18250 to get 2875 instead. Unless of course u intend to keep apsc body still.

You're expecting a little bit too much from the Tamron. Had the lens before and it's indeed soft @ F2.8 but sweet spot is @ F4.

Probably you can plan for the CZ 24-70 as your next lens.

Yah i reckon too. I am also thinking of cz2470 but the weight might make me consider carefully.

Probably another option is sigma 2470?

The sigma is 800g, the sony about 970... Not too much I'd say.
