got my a70 today

does that mean all A70 are made in malaysia? or there are those made in japan which cost more?

think all the A70's are made in m'sia. that's how they can sell a camera with so many features for SGD$500. haven't seen a Japanese one yet but it'll sure cost more.

where is the Canon plant in Malaysia? If u want lower cost/lower price, you will have to bare with the made in xxx (xxx = other than Japan). Maybe D300 made in Malaysia too? Great!

Woops, guess the mod has a lot of Malaysia, Singapore and Japan to censor now.. , Made in Japan gives me a sense of security over my cam's build quality, not to say that Malaysian assemblies are terrible, it's just that Japanese so much ahead with their techs. and i wouldnt wanna know that my cam was assembled by some mediocre "can screw in eh sai liao" employee.. or maybe they're all assembled by machines.. no offence..

no doubt, even myself also prefer the made in Japan than any other Asia country. Those made in Japan one are usually better in quality.
