Also at the Camera Workshop. They have 3 models. I think the smallest of the 3 is about 60-80 depending on where you go. There is also a copied version which sells for alot cheaper. I saw that at Challenger in Tiong Bahru going for $29.00 but I think you should get it abit cheaper in a shop or two at Peninsula Hotel. Same building that house the Camera Workshop.
The legs are made out many smaller ball-like pieces that are attached to each other like a ball and cup socket. I almost bought one till I found out that I could take it a part with just a little force. Any one of the ball joints along each leg.
Bad or not? Well for me that is a no no. if you use it as a tripod that have all 3 legs on the ground or platform that is fine. Problem is I was looking for an alternative to something I could curl around a pole or some fencing. What if one of the sockekts come undone? Down goes my camera to the ground. ( depending on how high you have the tripod)
yeah they said they did not have any "shipment info", and they did not even know an estimate of when it will arrive. However, it seems they have actually placed orders for more. I'll definitely call before going down.
Since we are on this topic, any good light ballhead to recommend for this Gorilla Pod? I like the flexibilty but adjusting my camcorder on this 'tripod' is a pain. Need a light ballhead with QR.
