For the process where I sent about 9 rolls of film to be developed on 4R and scanned, the resolution is 1840x1232.

For the process where scanning is done without printing, I'm not too sure.. sent about 7-8 rolls for this process on wednesday but havent had time to collect them yet.

Sorry OT a bit... While you are at Hong Lim, Try their Cha Kway Teow on top of the food court... The taste is out of this world.....! These 2 one if "Lao fu Zhi Cha Kway teow" Got lost of award but nothing fantastic. Take a look athe "Outram Cha Kway Teow"..The queue...WOW ! :D

Been there a couple of times just for their Cha Kway Teow...

Hi, I had recommended my gf to develop our digital photos from our Australian trip after seeing all those good reviews of KT. However, the photos turned out "edgy" (the outline are not smooth). I have taken a look of the photots on the PC and they actually looked fine.

She has spent more than $50 on the photos. If the problem lies with KT, do you think we can ask them to develop again? Of course, I should try to develop some photos at another place to confirm where is the problem.

Have developed in KT fer qt a number of times and spent more than 100 bucks (maybe 200) on them...
yups they are very nice ppl...
U shd point out to them when u check it on the spot and I am sure Michelle will be glad to help. Yah maybe you should print in other place first (maybe 5 pics?) to compare and show it to them ;)

what's your resolution? our monitor screen do not need a lot of resolution to look fine. the guideline is about 250-300 dpi. for 4R (which is 4" x 6"), it roughly map to 1800x1200 or there about.

Just picked up my scans from KT. They look good. Will try prints this week and see how they handle skin tones.

Yes indeed..their service is very good...I just commented that the scanned image from my negative are very digital and color very saturated...the next day, the lady boss called me for more details....wow..fantastic sevice man....

actually i just commented only, but the image is not very disturbing for me...

anyway, ups for them...

I just brought some of my previous Digitial photo I taken for them to print .... checking skin tones :) .... will keep u updated on what I think of the skin tones ;). (JFI, these pictures I sent to them were printed out as yellow face by Konota ;) ).

Seems like i must make my trip down one of these days for film scan. Went to ask a few shops at Woodlands and they quoted me $10 for 1st roll, $5 for subsequent rolls. The other shop quoted $9.90 for all rolls. Even a trip to friendlier Chinatown shop can be cheaper than them now :)

8R & Super 8R how much????? FOR DIGITAL & FILM?......

Just got my pic back from KT, personal view .....

Same Digital picture as processed by Konota and KT.

Konota pictures seems to be brighter, but the colour tone leading towards the yellowish side.

KT pictures seems to be not as bright, but the contrast seems to be better, the skin tone is a bit more natural too.

Tomorrow will be bringing some "Jundice" digital pic to KT to print (It looks fine on screen, but printout from Konota makes the model into some yellowish monster), and see if they produce better output .... so stay tuned ;).

Anyone tried the branch at Bukit Batok?
Issit gd?

all this difference in brightness, contrast, skin tones, warm tones ... looks like it's not much real difference between the machines. the difference lies in the eyes and taste of the printer doing corrections. so when u want ur pics uncorrected it doesn't make a difference any more. or u could tell the person to do it warmer if u want to achieve something that looks like from another lab....

so is there any real difference between these popular labs - in terms of machine, paper etc?

Hehehe ..... will be asking them to print "neat" without correction tomorrow. So I can calibrate my monitor to their machine. :).
