hey guys, if I have jpegs that are 3360x2240, can I send them to the photolab and print them as they are? i don't like the idea of compressing them before sending it for printing.

for 3360x2240, what is the largest printable size? (good resolution at handhold distance..)

Any where to reccomend for printing? Pls recommend....Thanks!!

hey guys, has anyone experienced poor quality in terms of negative handling etc?

I just got back my negs scanned and found out that some neg frames have FINGERPRINTS and some have LINE STAINS ACROSS some parts of the frame. Also, the scan detail has some serious issues.

I will be going back tomorrow to check out what exactly is the problem. I sincerely hope this is just an unfortunate accident.

sigh. all my past rolls have been okay and I have been very happy with them. ( as u can see from my above post). not until today. sincerely hope the problem will be rectified. If not ill have to go to Kex for his services.....lol.

So far i have not any problems with their scanning. And i have scanned over hundreds of films oreadi.

Richard told me that what happened to me is very seldom. Compensated me my 2 rolls, although that barely covers the cost of $16 for 2 rolls. Luckily they were casual shots of my family. What if they were paid shoots? Will compensating my rolls compensate for streaked lines across my bride's face? Or white streaks across my VIPs face?

Do hope that it will never happen again.

I've sent a couple of rolls to Owen for developing and scanning and so far have been very pleased with the results! For the price I pay I'm very happy for the work done, its very good. Hopefully the problem encountered by doug was just a one off thing.

I'll def be sending more stuff down to that shop though! For now, I'm going broke buying up film eh heh!

I have mine develop and scan. It is $8.
But I find out that the 16base scan is much more noise as compare to 4base scan. Frankly, I yet to find one 16base scan lab that does not give noisy result.
It also means that we need to use Noise Reduction software to do post processing.

Can someone recommend a lab that provide 16base scan that is not so much noise?

just back from the lab. They have adjusted the prices. Developing + scanning is $8 and Scanning alone is $6.
