used this lens as the only lens (on nikon d5000) for 3 days during the java jazz festival in jakarta.
very satisfied with it. focusing is fast, generally no problem. heavy but manageable.
sharpness is fine for me.

You mean Sigma adopt a newer finishes for the newer lenses? It is great if it's true.
I hope Sigma adopt the Nikon type of finishes, use for 18 years with no skin peeling :thumbsup:

Yes, they changed to smooth plastic, I have it on my 150-500mm lens. However, it seems to be easily scratched. I'm not complaining though.

Just bought a very old Tokina lens, the plastic finisihing is still outstanding.
