I heard that the longer the range, the more you need to sacrifice your quality of the photo.. This is precisely that prevent me from 100% sure getting 18-125 mm. dilemma...

The optical quality is pretty much the same as a shorter zoom up to 10x15. Beyond that the primes will shine. So I won't worry about optical quality. What puts me in 2 minds is that it is DC lens... I can't use it on my film 7.... :thumbsd:

That is probably the case if stopped down to the sweet spot. U can try the Minolta this coming Tue. Then go to a shop that sells the Sigma and compare. That's the beauty of digital!

Hee, me don't have any wide angle lens at the moment, now living with 24-105 for my wide needs, and there are occasion when it's not enough. But the thing is I don't shoot wide so often, so thinking of the 17-35 as it's pretty affordable...

Anyway, i'm really broke now, so just have to make do with what i have and do my maths...

:thumbsup: I am using the AF Tokina 24-200 mm with my new 7D. It work great with no AF or flash problems. The 5600 HS D flash works best on my flash bracket. I'm so thrilled with the combination. I need models in SoCal to apply the learning curve with this equipment.

Basically a digital iteration of the widely praised 28-300mm full frame lens.... I just hope I'll the digital version of the 24-135mm SP lens! My favourite lens!

Edit: Oooh!!! I read later in the article that a 11-18mm lens will ship in Spring 2005 from Tamron! And it's from the SP range!!! Cool!!! Maybe I should go grab a 7D next month!
