Go with the K-7 or K-x???

So far the K7 has been a recommendation for serious photographers like Fengwei, Dennis and company. But at $1799 (or even purchased at US prices), its price is a little intimidating for the beginner. So while the K7 maintain market share and perhaps turn a few seasoned DSLR users from other makes, its the K-x that will have to capture more of the newbies where the market share has more space to grow. Building in so many features in such a small package means users with no prior camera experience can enjoy the best value-for-money. So if you are a newbie, go for the k-x!

i dunno... have not gone down for a few weeks...just give them a call, they ope on sunday... anyway silver is hard to come by... online is a better bet...and cheaper too...

3 things to consider,
1. k-x for the newbie - cheaper, Video, nice odd un regular colors (fashion statement), newbie UI.
2. K-7 For the old timers and new brand shifters - Good value, faster and have more features a pro could use. add in 720p video on the list.
3. K20D for old timers and new brand shifters on a budget - IQ almost the same with K-7 but have lesser features. bulkier and heavier. NO video!!

Come to think of it, K-7 has ISO 6400 on 14.7 MP and k-x has 12800 at 12 MP . Does that mean that k-x has better noise management than k-7?
and does resolution of 4672 x 3104 for k-7 and 4288 x 2428 on k-x matter?

Your standard is relative.
I have seen so many newbies buying the 5D Mk II and D700 without even batting an eyelid.
I don't know if their wallet was hurting or not but it didn't show on their faces. :bsmilie:
My colleague went for the free "intro" course that came with his 1000D and there was a guy at the course with his 5D Mk II... :think:

I just called up emjay. They are not taking part in the sitex show in November. There is no upcoming promotions and Kx will only be available in next month.
I feel like I should stop waiting for a price drop for k7.. it doesn’t seem like it will happen within the next month or so!
On the other hand, I really like the colored options of kx and wonder if I shld get the kx and then wait for k7 to drop to half of its current price (like k20d is now) and I’ll get 2 cameras for the price of what I’ll pay for a k7 now!

if u can go with either camera than take the K-X... why pay more...
if u want the K-7 for what its capability and features, need to wait very long for the price to come down, and sometimes its more costly to wait and miss all the photo taking opportunity than just money... u save some money but u also miss all the fun where sometimes money cannot buy...
