[GKC] Singapore got nice places to shoot meh?

very nice KC please share more of your landscapes shots.. What filters do you use for seascape and reflections shots??

Thank you for dropping by! I have a hitech nd-grad set with the LEE filter holder(1,2 and 3 stop) and a kenko nd 400(9 stop). Depending on what i want to create and the amount of light available i will use them differently. For extremely long exposure i will stack the kenko with one of the hitech (windstorm or frozen for reference), or use the kenko alone (the reflection).

For general seascape, because i usually shoot during sunset, i will pull down the nd grad so it becomes a full nd to have an exposure long enough for streaks to form, followed with another nd grad to balance exposure. Number of stops used will depend on how bright it is (any seascape pic for reference). Reflection just depend on how still the water is.(any reservoir shots). Otherwise you can create them in post production, although i find that they look fake.

To be honest, depending on what you want to create, you may not need to use filters. I started without and just took multiple exposures and blended them manually in post production(which i still do sometimes).

thanks for sharing.. I love the "Layers" shot.

Ty, Glad you do! that was with a fuji x10, no filters required.
what post processing software are you using? Im using NEX-5R and all my landscape are so-so only..

I'm sure you will progress as you shoot more, Nex5r has a pretty good sensor already. I use lightroom 4 and cs4 for processing.

Made the trip down even though weather forecast says thundery showers.
Glad i did, as there was little to nobody there, free stretch of rocks to choose from for composition.

It was drizzling as i arrived but i decided to wait it out, luckily it ended quickly. As the weather was pretty bad that day, there were little fisherman around, i shot here many times and i love the place for what it is, calm and serenity. There was a subtle glow of yellow on the horizon as i looked for a composition, before long the sun came out from under the cloud and dyed the horizon orange, the only sad thing was the thick rain clouds preventing it from becoming a full fledged eruption of colors. My tripod does not extend low enough for this shot so i had to get pretty close to the water while hand holding my camera. Times like this i really wished i had a tilt screen as it would save my back from a lot of aching.

Bro, thanks for sharing.... you photos are very nice and inspiring....:heart:

When most of us are ditching the "old" camera and going for the new camera.... you show us its the skill that matters.....

No problem, Thank you for stopping by! I too would love to change my camera when i can afford it :) Not that i need it, but just want to :D

Hi! I have quite abit of difficulty with the distortion from the sigma 10-20. How do u over come it? Choosing to use this lens when there is no obvious verticals?

Hi, I use this lens for everything haha. For landscape its hardly noticeable, for architecture its pretty much up to Photoshop, and try to keep the camera level instead of pointing up or down. It also depend on your tolerance for distortion i guess, some people don't really mind them. Hope it helps.
