Minolta ppl are very poor. :(

Actually when I posted a tripod thread here, one of the users mentioned about this tripod.. I got a reply from the user.. cost around S$200+.. don't think it's that expensive..
Just want to know the actual price and if it's a better buy as compare to Manfrotto 190Pro.. ;)

BTW,off topic.. who say Minolta ppl are poor.. :bsmilie:

You'd want a good ball head to go with it then. Something like a Manfrotto 468RC2 that Hart has for sale in ebay ...

Mmmmmm ... ball heeeaaaaadddddddd ...

WAKE UP!!! YOU CAN'T AFFORD IT :nono: !!!

Get the markin M20 ball instead... hehehe..

I am selling the 468RC2 as I just bought the M20. Very very happy with it.

I bought my 190ProB plus a 488RCO ballhead for $265 from AP at Sim Lim... the 488 series is a higher end balhead than the 468 series I think... can't remember the specifics now but the tripod cost more than the ballhead... my bill didn't give the breakdown. The ballhead can take up to 8kg. Comes with a ballhead lock plus a horizontal pan lock with scale markings. Also comes with 2 bubble levels. Comes also with a fancy quick release plate. It's a pretty heavy ballhead but it's built to last.

Choose a lighter ballhead it's much cheaper. The 486RC2 was much much cheaper than my 488RCO but I wanted the bubble levels...

Hi TME,

I think you mistaken 468 series with 486 series... 468 series is the PROBALL series, meaning high-end Manfrotto ball head.

468RC2 has a friction control... which is very nice feature when you are using different lenses, you can adjust the friction so that when you mount your combo (body+lens), it will stays on... but you can still move it... it is invaluable... similar to the Markins Ball head.

Markins ballhead is much more expensive, but its precision and ease to use really make a different.

Hi,
Is this a very simple low end ball head?

Hahaha... I am referring to this ballhead... it says 486 on the webpage.

http://www.manfrotto.com/Jahia/cache/offonce/pid/2304?livid=liv2212

It's a typo... anyway the Manfrotto website like dun have 468 also... it's not listed.

Here is the link... http://db.manfrotto.com/product/search_result.php3?sku_search=468RC2

It has been replace by newer model 468 MGRC2

Put a link? Can't quite find it.

Woah pro... not in my league and not required... the 488RCO is already overkill for my setup (bar 100-400 + 2xTC tho' cos no tripod collar).

my friend who also use 488RCO, almost every frame she took with her 100-400 is blur at 400... She complaint about the lens.. then I ask her to use her setup on my 468RC2, taken 2 second exposure for night shot, it was very very sharp...

Can anyone advise about the 410 geared head?

What do you intend to use it for? If you are after heavy duty video or studio type head, 410 will be great. But for ease of use and quick action, ball head is the best.

That's of course represent my own opinion...
