Fantastic quality Gitzo GT1541T and Markins Q3-T ... best match, if you've the budget.

Btw, how do you all bring this pair on your travels? Does the airlines allow you to hand carry it in? Or all they need is a bag that stores the tripod?

The folded length is ~42cm which is way below the hand-carry limit of 50+cm iirc. Anyway, this is the only combo afaik that will not risk having to check-in. For longer tripods, sometimes you can get through the hand-carry but not always, depending on the airport. If you prefer to check it in, it is also very easy to stuff into you luggage cos of it's dimunitive size. I think there should be no problem if you check it in with a tripod bag, say a Thinktank bazzoka.

i remembered there was a flight that I took, and the security guys says i had to check them in ... I was so PISSED cos' my luggage's already checked in ... I had to shrinkwrap the tripod (was a slik) back then!

So guys, it really depends ...

That's why I thought maybe you guys placed in a tripod bag, and it doesn't seem tht obvious, and the security ppl let you in...
