What the shop told you is correct. Through so many years of using electric shavers, I have tried Philips, Braun, Panasonic and Remington.
As an Asian, I rate Panasonic my first choice. It gives me the closest shave without irritation (I have very sensitive skin). The 35,000 rpm motor they use inside their shavers is not a marketing-hype. It really cuts into those stubborn short hairs without irritation. Made in Japan. The quality of their shavers is exquisite (better than any German, Dutch or American (made in china!)) shavers.
My second choice goes to Braun. Their shavers give me a good shave but not a close shave. It will cut into my skin if I want my shave closer.
Philips will be my third choice. Slow and boring shaving experience most of the time as I have to go over the same area twice to achieve the same smoothness Braun shavers give me.
To me, any Remington shaver is a piece of crap. Their current models are so plasticky. Their designs feel and look odd. My shaving experience with their shavers was equally crappy. Made in China.
