Getting a camera, when, how, where, why.

Hello ppl from Clubsnap! I'm very new to photography. So all experts here, "qing duo duo zi jiao"

I currently dun own a camera but I'm struggling to make up my mind to get 1. Thinking of Canon Powershot G3 ( I know it's not out yet), Nikon Coolpix 5700 (the 1 I really wanna get & I know it's out of stock) & Fujifilm Finepix 602Z. I guess I dun have to ask you all to recommend. Cos I've been looking closely at the forums & I notice far too many post asking recommendations about which camera to get! :bsmilie: I'd probably end up with conclusions like "every camera got it's pros & cons, get the 1 that suits you best". I'm right am I?

I've been asking around lately about the stocks of CP5700 & Canon G3. None of the shops have any stock for these cams. I wanted to get the camera before GST becomes 5% next year.

I'm rather surprised to see CP5700 running out of stocks everywhere. I'm kinda puzzled. I've looked through many user's review & stuff. And I found quite a few complaints about CP5700. But despite that, the camera sells like hotcakes. Does that mean that I won't be able to get it cheaper than it is before 2003?

According to John 3:16, there'll be another shipment of 5700 in late November, you might want to give them a call and check abt it.

Don't bother to look for that model at City Hall area, I had combed the whole place from High Street Centre, Funan, Peninsula, Raffles City, Marina Sq, Suntec 2 weeks ago. No luck at all.
