geting liver treatment in singapore? which hospital?

My neighbor in VN just ask me to help her checking on which hospital to go for.
Her mother has just been diagnosed to suffer from some liver tumor.
She'd like to bring her mom to Singapore for treatment.

A friend of mine here said that i should bring her to see general doctor then they'll recommend a specialist and go to the hospital of the specialist. I'm not sure abt this also.

which hospital should i recommend her? You guys should know better than me right?

I'm not sure about specialist cancer treatments here, but it seems that Raffles Hospital constantly attracts the creme of the crop of medical professionals, or at least that's what I am told by 'insiders'.

Gleneagles have a good liver specialist on the fifth floor of the annexe block 'HF Lui Digestive & Liver Clinic' Ive been going there for the past few months with digestive problems and they have been great.

General Hospital do have specialists treatment as in their Cancer Centres. BUT appointments are usually made weeks or months in advance. And even if they set the appointment on that specific date or time, say 2pm, it is generally very crowded and the patient may not get to see the specialist at the appointed time, sometimes stretches to 4 or 5 pm...The waiting isnt that pleasant believe me.

About 2 years ago it was not that bad. If appt is at 2pm, you may wait till 3-4pm. They actually can page for you, so you can roam about. About making appointment, i think depending how serious is the case, if one had visited a general doctor, did some pre analysis and get referral letter, sometimes it could be quite fast. For overseas patient maybe they may have some special arrangement i guess.
