Yes agree that the chairs are not very 'professional', but at least it's well-padded and you can't expect those armchair seats like a concert hall. I don't remember any vast differences to Suntec. Attended a concert by David Helfgott at the Suntec Ballroom, used similar chairs.

The ushers in this event were employed by UnUsUaL Production and I'm sure they've been told to be nice. I suspect the Indoor Stadium ushers work for the venue so they couldn't be bothered.

Strange, how come you attended the concert without knowing the background. Did you get free tickets like aloe? ;)

Got my tickets from a friend who couldn't attend, so as a big fan of Penny
and Xiao Mei, I gladly bought over the tickets from him, so didnt know it
was a charity show. You mean there were a lot of free tickets for the
concert ? Expected lah, this kind of venue and location....those who got free
tickets, cannot hiam liao lah...

i think the free tix are for the coporate spponsors and winners for some charity event or something... well the ushers are from a diff company.., indoor stadium have their own grp of pple doing ushering... so they are probably v unfreindly but after doing this concert of this magnitude, i think i know why they must be unfriendly... to create less trouble for themselves or else pple will just walk over their heads.. but well thats how it goes.. haha ya i ws taken aback by the "seats" but is quite ok la.. at least they botehr to link it together n not seperated cahirs or else they cld be used as "missiles"

i was the front row ursher.. i almost went crazy wif the screeming@!

Hi

do you wear specs? were u somewhere in the centre? did u talk to a photographer?? :P

I was one of the hired photographers. during the concert i strayed out of the press pit occasionally (i have no idea why the rest of the photographers like to shoot up the singers' noses :P) and one of the usher chatted a bit with me, complaining about the first row audience :P is it u?

Actually, stage photography need not use flash, because the lighting is already very strong. Just set the shutter to 1/30 and with a steady hand you will get good exposure. That's why the photo-pros in front of the barricade didn't use flash.

not true leh....a lot of them were blasting away with their flash guns. it was so crowded in front i think they got into some of the video camera shots....

but u're right.....actually ISO 800, f2.8 and 1/125 is enough to catch the entire concert. no flash needed! the lighting is pretty consistent.

Wow, you're hired to be at the pit! Never knew how this hiring works, but I suppose you have to register yourself with one of these publication companies and they would assign you when they have tasks. Is my assumption correct?

You are right, that being in the pit is not very strategic. But it's the closest and safest place to the stars.

Were u the only one who walked out of the pit?? Cos I saw one guy with huge camera and wearing those tags walking abt... And I was urhmm... scolding him in my mind.... :P Cos kept blocking us esp since for the 1st part of the concert, non of us stood up... then must stay at the seat to take photos...... ahem... :embrass: But my friend and I were pretty impressed with all the huge cameras all the photographers in the press pit were holding, esp this guy with a HUGE white lensed camera on tripod... And yes, they were still using flash and everytime a singer comes out, they will all rush to the front of the stage or whichever part of the stage the singer is at, and take photos.... totally agree that the pit is the safest place to be... ahah!!! :bsmilie: cos all the fans were rushing to the front when Zai Zai went on stage and it got worst when Jerry Yen was on. If the were behind the barricade i.e. not in the pit, I think they would not be able to take any photos at all and would be trampled..... ;p

no i'm not with a publication company. i was engaged by one of the event companies involved. as a result, my job was more than just shooting pictures of beautiful faces. have to catch entire hall + crowd etc. tat's why i can't stay in the pit all the time :(

oops...... could be me. But i squat or kneel down at all times when i'm not shooting and i dun really move about a lot in front of audiences (don't want to get stoned :P) and here's another photographer who walked out too i think, so hopefully it's not me

o.. confirm not u. Cos the guy was standing up all the time while taking photos.... so everytime the artiste walk to our side of the stage. He will be there.... blocking..... ;p

Good for you to have transport. I reached home about 12.15am

Anyone knows whether the Gen-Y concert will be telecast on TV? I was told that it would, but so have have not heard any publicity... already 2 NKF shows are telecast live on TV, and a third one tonight, but no sign of this Gen-Y.
