Soft as in out of focus or what? Or in focus but image looks out of focus still?

Well, I sorta agree with you if I pixel peep. Go up to the front of the 40 inch LCD and look at it. But from where I normally sit to view, it looks fine to me. But then again, when I pixel peep, I do see some compression artifacts. I cannot really judge if the true image is indeed soft from what is posted though.

Sold the E-P1 today and then went to try the Pannasonic GF1.
After hearing all the complaint from Lumix users about the high accessories price and pricing policies, I started regretting selling the E-P1. Then I tried the GF1 and the the back dial is really poorly designed... more regrets.

Shot some RAW files and was glad that I could immeidately convert them to DNG. Checked the IQ and feel that the noise at low ISO in the shadow area seems to be better than E-P1.

I agreed that the noise control is surprising better than g1. slightly better than ep1. less color noise which i used to have on g1. by the way, i noticed the low iso noise on ep1 too. is the gf1 a lot better? cos i was thinking of selling too for the better image quality if its a lot better. EVF is ok not that fantastic. if got optical would be better. Yes panasonic battery is sooo expensive.

I love articulating LCD screen. So the G1 will compliment the GF1 nicely as a m43 system.
Make sense to have the same battery systems for all bodies.

But I can be senseless.... especially when suffering from withdrawal syndrome.... I could be buying back another E-P1 while awaiting for the GF1 release.....

KH, just put it down to 'artistic temperament'.

;p

40 days with the E-P1 and 100 shots:

I missed the image quality from full frame DSLR. But I wouldn't have taken so many pics if I had carried the heavy DSLR with me.

The Lumix 7-14mm is really a very nice lens.
The 14-42mm is an average performer.
The 17mm is least used cos it doesn't offer much advantage over the 14-42mm lens other than size.
I'm selling the Lumix 45-200mm. Too big and not really sharp, especially towards the tele end.

Is it possible to mount filters in front of the 7-14mm? Webby images seemed to indicate no..
but i really like some protection for a 1.5K lens

Only way I see is to have something like the lens cap custom made to hold a filter than slide onto the top,if the Lumix 7-14 is bad enough, what about the Zuiko 7-14,3k lol

Sharing a video clip taken on 12 Sept'09 at Ben & Jerry's Chunkfest'09 (Marina Barrage) with the E-P1.

Video slightly compressed using FFDshow-xvid (92% quality) codec before uploading. Audio-PCM, uncompressed.

nice n sharp. audio's quite clear too.

Some fast action pictures taken today at a local offroad RC track...
It was around 6pm and cloudy, thus had to push up the iso, mostly to 800-1000 to achieve proper exposure for shutter speed of 1/1000 - 1/1250 secs.
With some PP, pictures actually turn out quite nice.

How's that for fast action shots from E-P1!!! Well done!

haha... had to risk my limbs to get those "killer" shots.. :bsmilie:

Anyway, enjoyed myself today.. offroad RC is my passion too...

I guess if the lighting is good, would have gotten much better pic out of the cam.. maybe some of the pics here are over sharpened... :P

for the price of the lens, i would say IQ is good..
