Maybe you want to see what i have done with gaffer on my 300D

andi, good luck in removing all the tape when it's time to. my polyken tape gets a little sticky at the edges, and had to rub that sticky leftover after breathing hard to get some moisture down on the camera body. the main area covered by the tape itself was clean, however.

Sehsuan, this is the second time i put gaffer tape again :) that one i buy is verry good one, it doesnt stick that strong to the material, but it still good enough to protect the body, actually this gaffer one is for airbrush masking tape, less than a minutte to remove with no stain, but takes half day to wrap in hahaha.....

wow... all the time you need to do painstaking gaffering... i didn't have a fantastic experience - the gaffer that i used to line the bottom edge of my 10D came loose far too easily then. after that, just simply bochup about gaffer lor! :)

ahahaha, yeah, but seems i cant do nothing since yesterday cos raining, then no choise lah, play with the gaffer again

hi anyone,

Anyone wants to share the gaffer you got from Mo?
i will share the cost with you then, i need to cover a hood and other stuffs

Please pm me

Thank you

have anyone seen a photographer taped his lcd screen, alongside his entire DSLR, just so he 'Blaff' his client that he is shooting film? i'm impressed!

The ones canturn are ordering are way better then ordinary gaffers. Strong and yet no residue left behind. Ask Larry :D I heard he's already used 3 rolls so far :D you'll need 55 meters as you'll be using it gaffer your lenses body and flash and etc. Good for masking out tell-tale signs of expensive hardware.
eh, who tell you one??? :what:

ok ok the truth is out. i've used about 3 rolls so far (not completely lah, still got about 3 half-used rolls lying around my house and office) and i got them all from canturn (a little product endorsement for him). it's very useful stuff and yes i use it extensively on most of my photo gear, from my cam bodies, lenses, tripods, monopods, and other misc accessories. and yes i change the gaffer tape often, esp on my cams cos they see quite heavy usage. so far i'm happy with my gaffer, esp if/when i do sell my stuff, they still look cosmetically new.

i also gaffer my stuff for another reason - i don't like clients or people in general to start looking at what i use and comparing or discussing brands. so i use gaffer to mask the brand and model. so far it's worked - most people dun see past the ratty-looking bits and pieces of gaffer tape sticking out, and i like it that way. :D

I'm not sold on the benefits of gaffer.

I prefer duct tape which is significantly cheaper. It usually comes off cleanly enough. Occasionally there is some sticky residue. The way to remove it is NOT by rubbing, but by using another piece of duct tape. Stick it on, pull it off repeatedly. The residue will stick to the duct tape and be removed in no time, with no risk of scratching the underlying surface.

Building name is Adelphi (UOB and OCBC bank at lower ground) opposite funan, can't remember the shop name but its an art shop.

you take a escalator untill top floor, then look at the left there is an Art Shop, just ask them you lookin for airbrush masking tape.

Goodluck
