Too bad no news of panasonic coming up with a new DSLR...
Panasonic is coming up with new DSLR, its called the GH1

Hmm, panasonic dun wanna go head to head with the likes of canon, nikon and sony.

They want to play a niche market strategy, thus will be focusing more on m4/3

When I got home last night I was quite disappointed with a lot of my sunset shots, I had a reflection of a second sun. Best way is to post one, how can I stop this?:dunno:

I am always pleasantly surprised by how much this "little" camera (FZ18) can do. Here are two examples. The photo of the full moon inspired by ricsal another FZ18 user.

#1 Sunset at Tanjung Aru Beach in Kota Kinabalu. Taken using the creative mode.

#2 Full moon. Taken at 28.7x extended zoom with a resolution of 2.5m, handheld. Noise as expected.

i think its the problem of your filter.

It would be better if you posted your exif data too.

Hi Melvan, yeah it is only a crappy UV filter that was given as freebie.
But why on only every now and then?
Shutter speed 1/100 sec
F4.0
ISO 250
Focal length of lens 55.00

It happened only now and den cos of the different position of the sun.

Yeah i think its cos of your filter, a better filter would fix the problem.

Since you were on a tripod you should actually stop down more, maybe to F8 or something.

i 2nd that, since you have a tripod you should use F8.0 for Scenery,to prevent any kind of shakes i usually set timer also.

My shots yesterday.

Hey guys, will be enlisted tomorrow, so will not be taking part in most of the activities from now on, unless its weekends. :)

Hi Navlem, well, tomorrow is the big day, NS. Over the the past few years I have seen you turn into a fine young man, and now you have this final rite of passage. Good luck, all the best, just sorry I will miss your new haircut.:) Everyone, I am sure will miss your posts for a while.

All the best to you Navlem. Take good care of yourself in there.

Take care and all the best....
as for me i will turn 1 yr on the 24th...
haha

Hey Rob if I were you I'd lose that filter. Its much better without. Or replace it with a multi-coated filter, say $25.
