dun worry i believe the tcon17 will be alot better than tat... but keep in mind when using a tcon u have to check ur setting of ur camera again as the tele sort of lower the light going to the sensor
infact, tcon17 should be better than my C210
anyway if during the weekdays u all are going for any outing, just post here... i will try to attend if i'm not working... my weekend seem to be fully booked by work
If we do go for any outing, will be most glad to lend my Tcon17 for Try if any one wishes to try..
dont use much of it anyway...
Think i only used it twice over the months ..
The Vitacon 2.5X Teleconverter is a scam product by the way, it has only 1.4x magnification, resolution is like crap and is only worth like 20 bux. Which shop did you see it at?
The shop beside Cathay Photo. The image quality wasnt the only thing thats crappy, the AF speed was so much slower den normal at daytime somemore. And it hunt quite often.
Hi all, there was an Olympus Tcon 17 in that shop that we saw Melvan at Peninsular, had a look at it today but did not have adaptor ring to fit. Also it was second hand and the lowest they would come was $145, and they were doing me a big favour.
Is it right that I will need a 55-58 step up ring? Does anyone know where I can try to get one (T-con 17)new and the step up ring? Am going to Ang Mo Kio tomorrow so will try that shop there, I got my raynox from them.

Hi Ombre, I had about 4 shops try to flog me their Vitacon 2.5X Teleconverter, I told them I dun wan and told them I asked for Olympus Tcon17 and that is what I want. They said Vitacon was just as good so I showed them the shot below which was taken by the salesman.
One place today had an Olympus Tcon 13 which was much better than the Vitacon but I am willing to hang on until I can source a new Tcon 17. I think it would be interesting to see what price one of you local guys could get that second hand one for, I bet it will be much less than Aussie price.
I might have to take Vinze up on his offer to try his when we go fishing on Friday night.
Hey Clunk, yup, avoid the vitacon like the plague. I got fleeced once, and I swear that shall be the last time I let any camera shop scam me. How much did they try to charge you for that? And which stores by the way? 4 stores is quite a lot, I'm guessing you went to peninsula plaza?
Hah Vinze, how's the TCON-17? I remember it was in pretty bad shape the last time I saw it. =(
Will fix a time to pick u up on friday nite. most likely bout 9plus..
do drop me an sms on weds or thursday.
would you like to go get the rod n stuff first ? or wanna get them on Friday nite ?
Friday is confirm, just the Time & location to pick u up.
Do remind me to bring my cam set.
tcon17 first hand from cathay is $160
the 2nd hand price u were saying is $145, doing u a big favour???
as for the adapter, i think tcon17 is a 55mm thread... and u remember the adapter that i sell u last time, its 52mm thread... so u will need a 52 to 55mm thread... this can be easily source out from a shop at 2nd floor of peninsula plaza, i won't say its the cheapest, but reasonable enough.
Hi Skyguy, I went into Cathay, the guy in there was ok, they didn't have any Olympus T-con but they had a Panasonic. The only problem was the price $299, I grumbled a bit and it came down to $260. Still too much. So the quest continues, I would like to get one somewhere before the weekend. Amy and I are going to Genting Highlands for our anniversary next Sunday morning for a couple of days.
Would it be worthwhile just trying a major Olympus outlet?
Hi Melvan, I have had one person asking to buy all the accessories only but I said I would like to keep it all together rather than break up. And another who is interested in the camera. I explained that I came to S/pore this trip without intention of selling my FZ28 and have left the CDs manual and cable back home. Best I can do is copy the programs to cd from this computer for him and post all the stuffs when I return home or Amy can bring back when she comes back in Sept. for John's wedding. I replied that I would negotiate a little on price because of inconvenience of having to wait and trust me to send the rest of stuff by post.
I hope he is interested still. Will just have to wait and see.
I am going into town later today, so will have a look around to see there are Sony shops with displays of a300, or a330. Would like to see what the bronze colour a330 looks like, don't really know if I would buy a coloured one.
Hi Melvan, I am meeting prospective buyer this afternoon, he says he will pay what I am asking and will wait for me to post papers and cds to him.
Bronze one looks good, now I just have to decide if I go for new a330 or second hand a300.
My FZ 28 is gone. At least it went to a gentle man who had a FZ 5 that had passed away. I am sure it will be happy with the new owner. Now I have to get a DSLR.
