Hi nova,Extra Zoom can be found inside the FZ28 camera itself...EZ is what you get after you reduce the image resolution of the picture..for example..at 10mp,the optical zoom is at 18x which is standard for the FZ28..but if you reduce to 5mp,u get something like 25.7x zoom range = Optical zoom+Extra zoom..if you reduce the image size even more to 3mp..you can get a total of 32.1x zoom which is the total of optical zoom + extra zoom..hope i didnt confuse you because not so good at explaining it..;p

Ahh, ok clear enough although can't say I understand the technical side of it. So 18x becomes 32.1x. the more I have to get this FZ28. Another 24hrs wait. ;p

Imagine if the camera using just the centre part of the sensor.... you get a crop factor... similar to a dslr.

Hi... I used the s5i during the F1 .. and for me, s5i its harder to use compare to the fz28. Picture its about the same to me haha .. maybe i not tt pro in it.

Having used the Canon & Panasonic menu before, I have used to both interface....
What do you think about the zoom lever? Both the S5is & FZ28 have the zoom lever at the same location (on the shutter), but personally I felt that the FZ28's is abit stiff as compared to the S5IS....
Anyone give a try between the two?

Can anyone hazard a guess on the price of FZ-28 in say 2 months time ? after 3 unsuccessful attempt at getting an FZ-28, I've decided to give it a rest ...so a while.

any Comex or PC Show in the coming weeks ? presently am attempted to order from Bargain City (interesting offer at 749 with some useful promo Paybies, as against Freebies). For extra 100 bucks, you get 8gb sdhc, compat battery, lcd protector, large tripod and cleaning kit. So are these Paybies worth the 100 bucks ? the 4gb sd and Lunix casing comes with the cam.

i got mine for $610 au with a 16gig class 6 sdhc card and 2 year warranty deliverd to my door next day witch is today hopefully i can get some shots in today if it comes early enough

usually warranty isn't international so any fault has to be send back to land of sales. btw as I was walking to a watering hole at holland v, saw Paris Silk outlet and decide to give it a try. walked out with a FZ-28. not at great price but near enough that I don't need to spend more time and parking to get from Alan. you know every time I called Alan and they said yes there's stock and I go there and they don't have! really piss me off.

Just a month after I bought my FZ-28, it got splash with seawater. I quickly rinsed it with fresh water, it didn't work so I left it in a dry box. Voila! after afew days it works again. Now 2 weeks later its dead again. I'm afraid this is final. So looks like its back to Fujifilm F-10 and FZ-3 for me. I'll have to wait for FZ-x8 or something before buying a new 20MP DSC (that's probably how long I'll have to wait for another new cam).
