Getting from Japan?? hmm is it worth. Cos the warranty wouldn't be cover in Singapore. Unles the price is quite a drastic different like $700-$1000 diff

makes you wonder why the price is so drastically different. i think if the D300 price is like more than $500 difference, it is worth getting direct from japan. for D3, the diff must be closer to $1000 as the service and spare parts cost more than the D300 should you require it.

the online price of 18-200VR is about $950. we all know it's selling for about $1250 here. that's $300 difference. quite a lot.

Actually, I am staying in Japan now.

I got my D80 over the weekend.

I think that the body warranty in local to Japan but the lens is worldwide.

I`m sure everyone knows this except me being a newbie.

So i think getting lenses from overseas is not a problem right?

Add at least another $500 for the new grip and it quickly adds up.

By comparison, you can buy a new 5D for nearly the same money as a D300+grip I guess, not that they are similar cameras of course.

Just a quick question: does the same 5% discount for foreigners apply for their other items as well (eg lens)? so i can take 5% off their internet price to get a true indication of price?

How about the 10% points? can it be used on the same day for your next purchase?
