It seems like the year is almost coming to a close, with just a few more months to go. It's better late than never, however. With my camera with me even as I go to work, I hope to produce more photos in the coming months than I have in the last year or so (excluding a couple of special events)...

Certainly, I lack the skill and inspiration to do a photo each day, so it'd really be a photo only occasionally, or sometimes several at once. Nothing nice here, but I thought it would make a nice time-line. So to kick off, some new ones from the last few days:

Nice concept of getting photos till the last day.
That is one scary beast of a Kangaroo. Looking at the claws,
I'd think that it would be a bear or something more vicious.

But this Kangaroo would scare the SH** out of me! :o

Haha, and stupid me...was trying to get closer to this roo with a 180mm lens. It was too close for comfort actually. Interestingly when I was there at the time I felt that it would probably run rather than attack me, and it did. But wow, it was a huge, wild kangaroo.

the kangaroo looks ferocious! looks very unstable and could charge anytime to give u a round of boxing punches. :bsmilie:

must had been very exciting moment for u. haha.

Good thing it didn't charge me, otherwise I wouldn't be here right now. However that would also mean I could get a few days off work, which is not so bad after all!

Thanks, glad you like it. Being in Melbourne yourself, I'm sure you're familiar with wild kangaroos.

You wont get a few days off. You would get a few weeks off. :)

Sounds good to me...that's be a refreshing break indeed. With my bones broken, that is.

A very common sight in Australia isn't it.

That's true. I've seen some poignant ones at the side of the road while driving, but couldn't stop to photograph those unfortunately. Sometimes I feel a tug inside that tells me I shouldn't be photographing such scenes. They need more respect than a camera can give them.

Canon Photo5 2008 (Australia) Entries- A month-long project

In 2008 Canon sent out a box of 5 items to its participants. The task was for us to photograph the objects in the box in the most creative way possible. I'm fairly uninspired as far as 'creativity' is concerned, but any excuse to dust off the camera and use it was very welcome indeed. The 5 items were: crayon, ribbon, bubble(s), cocktail umbrella and a tealight.

Crayon (completed 16 Oct)

Bubble (completed 29 Sept)

Tealight (completed 23 Sept)

Ribbon (completed 3 Oct)

Cocktail Umbrella (completed 11 Oct)

And you can view the rest of the participants' entries here:

http://www.canon.com.au/photo5/gallery/default.aspx

The gallery has slowed to a crawl and had a few minor glitches over the last couple of days, which is hardly a surprise. I suspect the bulk of the thousands of participants would be uploading during this period of time. My photos were uploaded over 24 hours ago but have yet to go live.

Anyway, thanks for viewing. Comments appreciated. Judging should commence soon, and should any of these entries make it into the finalists and you're interested to vote for me, that would be great.

These are two of a number of images taken during a pre-wedding shoot for a cousin. I can't reveal any photos with their faces in it on the odd chance one of their relatives or friends sees the bride in her gown before the wedding day.

Sorry, haven't posted here in quite a while. Any opportunity to use the camera would have been great. Some from yesterday, which were also an experiment with a new tone curve and some of Canon's Picture Styles:
