Same thing when i used adapted m lenses, i found out that the RAW is far sharper than the JPEG, i suspect the Fuji JPEG conversion caused this problem.

I have no issues getting sharp images from Fuji OOC Jpeg with M lenses though. :bsmilie:

Doubt its the JPG engine - why would the algorithm only affect shots from adapted lenses? Anyway I get soft shots from my 10-20 whether its JPG or RAW. Think maybe I'm just blind! haha

Think it is due to camera shakes.... is it better when you shoot with fast prime, such as 35 F1.4?

I really doubt it's camera shake as well the shutter speed was well above hand holding speeds - 1/60s. There wasn't motion blur - just not sharp, almost like out of focus. The lens performed as expected once I put it back onto the dSLR with AF.

Hi guys,

I have a problem with my XE1.

There's a line of black on the top half of my screen and in the viewfinder.

But the images come out ok. Anyone has a similar problem? Is there something wrong with my lcd?

Can't seem to find anything on Google.

Yes likely your display parts has got problem. It should be covered under warrantly if not expired. I experienced it when I am using olympus camera, replacing of parts is free of charge.

Thank you!! Off to the service centre I go!!

Hi everyone, slowly getting used to the XE-1. Compared to my previous EPL3, have to agree that the dynamic range has improved, though not as much as I'd hoped.

I'm now trying to learn about Auto-Exposure Bracketing (AEB), I'm wondering if its possible to take and process AEB shots in-camera? Or is there a method to take AEB shots in the field and later process them into their final image on the laptop without needing PhotoShop or LightRoom or other expensive softwares?

Just got this 3rd party grip from taobao. Easily accessible battery compartment and very nice to hold. Cheap, light, and good.

the grip is actually not so bulky imo. it actually helps me to hold the camera better when i put on 55-200mm.

forgot to mention that the photos are taken from the seller's website. lol.

Trying to use freeware tools if possible as I shoot mostly JPEG from camera and rarely post-process my images.

Found the AEB function is accessed via the "Drive" next to the LCD screen, but the images don't seem to be combined in camera. Plus according to dpreview forums the exposure bracketing is limited to +/-1 but so far I've only managed to get +1/3 to -1/3.

Does anyone have anything to share on this matter? I'm use Photoscape to occasionally crop or resize images if that helps.

I don't think there's an in camera funtion to combine the brackets.

Why can't you go to -/+1 ? It should be an option when you select AEB.

Oops! Yeah just realised that, dunno how I missed that bar right smack across the screen!

Does the software that come with the XE-1 have a utility to combine the AEB photos into one exposure?

If not then are there any free photo tools that have that function? It's really not worth it for me to buy Photoshop just for that.

To combine in-camera the three bracket shots will require HDR functionality which X-Pro 1 do not have. You have to do that in post processing.

What is the function in PhotoShop and Gimp to combine AEB exposures? Is it 'Blend Images'?

If so then a Google search for tools with the blend image function should turn up something.
