Hello there, how is your experience with this shop? Good?
For my indoor flash photography its almost a standard thing to do now. Tried doing just normal flash without gel and auto balance or even custom white balance, usually end up half yellow half daylight color. Almost impossible to correct properly with mix of colors. Once the colors are all the same (tungsten), its easy to get balanced colors.
Also its cheap, the tungsten gel is just a few dollars from Cathay Photo. Its the size of a mahjong paper, so just cut small bit, so less than a few cents per gel. Also the magnetic sheets can be bought cheaply at any stationary shop. Then use double sided tape to put them all together.
Hi all,
I would like to know whats the max print size (with reasonable acceptable quality) for photos taken with the X10 (12Mp)? I understand some photos maybe taken at just 6Mp, whats the max print size for this case?
Thanks!

new X10 firmware is out.
Firmware for X10 | Fujifilm Global
The firmware update Ver.1.03 incorporates the following issues:
1.New function for "RAW" button can be applied by customer's preference
By holding down RAW button for approx. 2 second or more, RAW button can be applied into new function similar to "Fn" button setting.
2.Each value set on ISO sensitivity and Dynamic range can be maintained even if aperture setting mode (P / A / S / M) is changed.
3.Face detection function is upgraded to keep tracking face by means of face-tracking AF function. As this function is activated even in movie recording mode, AF on detected face in the movie becomes more effective.
4.Blooming (White disk) phenomena, which can be observed in EXR AUTO mode, is reduced.
5.Compatibility on Mac OS 10.7
When the camera is connected to Mac PC on Mac OS 10.7, the camera is effectively recognized. Additionally, compatibility on RAW FILE CONVERTER EX with Mac OS 10.7 has been confirmed.
6.AF confirmation sound was controlled on "SHUTTER VOLUME" in the SET-UP menu. By this update, this sound is controlled on "OPERATION VOL." in the SET-UP menu, just similar to another functions.
7.The image area with high brightness might be recorded as "black-out" area, just in case of dedicated shooting condition, This unpleasant phenomenon is improved.
8.When the flash is used under macro shooting condition, light-reflected area was shown in greenish. This unpleasant phenomenon is improved.
Yay for new firmware and mac compatibility!

Street Photography in Japan with the Fuji X10 - Part 2
personally like the part 2, the ZOO project you working on, interesting direction and concept.
btw a few qns, 1)the reasons why you off ur IS, but I do seen some articles abt turning off the IS does help in IQ? and 2)I suppose converting the orginal images from colors to B/W is the most common practice we use if we are doin b/w photography, just curious why you prefer to capture ur subjects in cam B/W, apart from what you mention to be able to see the B/W effect of ur shots?
1) Since i am shooting in Shutter Priority mode and I always know my shutter speed is going to be high enough to freeze movement or prevent hand shake there is no point turning on IS since having it on might sometimes cause it to compensate when there is no need to compensate. I am guessing this cos when i first started using the cam IS was on and I was wondering how come certain shots the shutter speed should have been high enough but the picture turned out a bit blur. Since i turned it off I have not encountered any such occurrences.
2) For me, without the color, I am just left with the shapes, lighting, etc. Just feel more comfortable shooting in this mode. The files are RAW anyway so later on I still need to convert to B&W during post processing. It just helps me to visualize the final image during the time of shooting. No real big reason, just a personal preference.![]()
mogwai said:ok. on a Mac, just follow the on-screen instructions from the page.

basically, use a blank formatted card, download the .dat file and copy into card.
switch on cam while holding 'disp/back' button.
press 'ok', select 'yes', 'ok' and then wait.
all done in around 5mins.
