Fuji X10, so pretty!

Hi, my friend just bought an X10, is it not a defect that the LCD is always bright regarding the aperture, it's still bright even at f/16

the LCD will neither show the actual metering nor DOF when u half-press the shutter button, irrespective of power-save mode or not, so when u stop down to f/11 and half-press, the LCD will still be bright. the DOF is shown as a white bar overlaid on the distance scale.

The max aperture value is f/11, not f/16.

ya there is option about brightness, but the problem is the lcd is not getting dimmer if i set smaller aperture

Of course not. How if it doesn't have a DoF preview?

I did a Fuji X10 first impressions writeup for Invisible Photographer Asia. It is at the following link : First Impressions of the Fuji X10 | Invisible Ph t grapher Asia if the camera interests you. :)

Nice write up. I do agree with the thumb accidentally changing the settings. Hit the problem a few times and decided to get the clone thumbsup for it. Now I'm waiting for my cammie to come home next week. :D

Do comment on the usability of the thumbsup when you try it out later on. The non clone version is quite expensive and the clone version is still not exactly very cheap either. :)

nice writeup. but i think there's a lock function to disable macro/drive/flash/self-timer/RAW controls next to the lcd to prevent accidental change. long-press the menu to activate n another time to deactivate.

My problem was with the wheel. My aperture got changed by my fat thumb.

nice info. i think the prob lies with the command dial. main one is where we might place our thumb and sub one is too loose....

haha, then gotta use the tip of the thumb to hold the cam steady.... does anyone know where to get those remote cable release shutter?

if you are talking about the old-school cable kind, i happened to have a very old one. tested yesterday on X10, it works fine but cannot screw it completely into the shutter release.

you can get from ebay or ask camera stores. I saw Cathay Photo MS selling it.
