Does the F602Z has Auto Focus Lock like the A40? I know it has Auto Exposure Lock. How about Auto Focus Lock??
 

Don't really understand what you mean by auto focus lock, but aren't u locking the focus when you half-shutter any camera?? ;)

Basically Auto Focus Lock locks the focus, just like the Auto Exposure Lock functions. Once locked, can re-compose the pict without having to do the half-shuttle thingy.
 

Pretty confused why anyone would want to focus lock on something but yet don't want to half-shutter it, but anyway, you can sort of achieve that in the S602 by focusing something in AF mode, then switch over the MF mode so that the focusing doesn't change.

Also, S602 allows 49 focusing points in AF mode (7 x 7 square) that gives you complete flexibility is where you want to focus in a scene.

For most cameras, you just have to half-shutter to focus and then you can recompose the picture while holding the half-shutter before pressing fully.

On some SLRs, moving the camera while in half-shutter engages the continous focusing mode.

Half-shutter and switching to manual always works though.

Darkness: Yes that format is indeed much better. Will use that in future.:)

On the A40, you can focus locked a subject and then after that can remove the finger from the shuttle button. Once recomposition is done, can just press the shuttle all the way. Subsequent shot is shot using the same focus until lock is cancelled. Basically its something like Auto Exposure which locks the exposure rather than focus ;) I hope I made myself clearer :D
