I'm saying this coz I just got a confirmation from my brother that the dry box -- to which you quoted absurdly as valued at $10 -- is that of the cabinet (metal) type... similar to what I bought from Carrefour at $99.

MS Color sells it at $1260 right? So let's do a quick summation:

$1260 (cam) + $90 (CF) + $80 (Dry Box, lesser than that of Carrefour's) + $60 (Voucher) + $20 (Flash @ your price) + $ 30 (Charger @ your price) + $2 (cap @ your price) = $1,542

$1,542... hmm.. that's higher than the $1499 on offer right? Oh yes, we haven't even taken into consideration the cost of the digital camera training course and the money you save should you decide to get the printer.

Overall, I still think that it *IS* a very good deal. :)

:Later,

wow! good deal for someone who wants a dry box! hmm.... won't he have a lot to carry then?!?!? ;p

I probably won't get this bundle though. prefer the camera plus wide-angle lens for similar price. but that's because I've a dry box, a good external flash, 2 chargers and lots of caps ;p

Ok... had a chance to play with my brother's S602Z. I'm pretty much impressed. :)

Anyway, here are the official freebies:

o 128MB Smart Media (not CF, as I previously mentioned)
o Fuji Cap
o Leather Case
o Sanyo Quick Charger (Model: NC-MQR01W). Can charge 4 NiMM (1700mAh) in 230 minutes
o Digital Camera Training Course
o Flash (cheap type, brand is "slave")
o PhotoShow & Video Editing Software (which I failed to mention a while ago)
o M.S. Color 30L Dry-Cabinet
o $60 worth of ePic voucher
o Lucky Draw tickets :)

The F601Z is selling for $999. The freebies are:

o 128MB Smart Media (not CF, as I previously mentioned)
o Fuji Cap
o Leather Case
o Digital Camera Training Course
o M.S. Color 30L Dry-Cabinet
o Lucky Draw tickets :)
o Tripod

Oh, the stall is, tarraaannnn!!! M.S. Color Service. :D

:Later,

a cheap flash that i can use for nite portiats (anyone can recommand?)

hopefully can get it all @ same place...
how much is the SM selling @ MS?

well....i told them a friend of mine got it at that price. just let them know a name, i believe they won't go so far as to ask who and to provide a receipt.

it works for other items too:bsmilie: ..as long as you can carry it off.

he got it liao! $1200 for the camera.

Came back from the PC show 2002. Managed to play with the S602. My colleague even brought along his SM card while I brought along my CF card.

When I wanted to use my CF card, was told by the sales rep that "old type" is not accepted which I believe should be the Type I.

Then I happened to browse through the brochure and see the specifications in details. It shows that:

Storage Media
Slot No. 1: Smartmedia card (3.3V, 2MB to 128MB)
Slot No. 2: Microdrive (Some CompactFlash cards may not work properly)

In other words, I believe that only Type II can be accepted and not Type I.

To all the S602Z owners, does the above showed in your manual?

I understand that KC is able to use his 256MB Ridata card (Type I).

Just to highlight the above.

Overall, the camera is really impressive in the area of AF and zoom. Really fast. :D

The booth in PC show is from MS Color. I strongly believe that because of this exhibition, the recommended retail price of $1499 by Fuji must be followed. Knowing people are not buying at that price, that is why the bundle comes into place.

To me, the cost of the camera is still in the region of $1200 and the cost of the bundle is about $300. It is therefore, targetted at first time buyers or upgraders who does not have the above "so-called" freebies.

that's just Fujifilm playing it safe. Most Type I and II cards can be used for taking pictures but under video capture mode, the performance varies greatly (some can't even capture 1s!!!). The RiData I'm using is a Type I card. According to MS Color, Sandisk (type I) can be used too, just that it can't capture video.

I think the "new type" refers to the faster speed , either type I or type II, rather than "Type II".

is there a cable release for the 602 ? or a remote ? Not sure how to call it.. just thinking of getting shots without physicaly touching the camera to reduce shaking..

i do not think so, there is no cable release for the fuji 602z.

maybe can self-make? but it would be quite troublesome.

602z users, anyone has experience using it with an external flash? The first major event I tried it, the pictures all came with an orange cast, even when I set WB to sunlight (I tried auto WB too). I guess I should have used custom whitebalance on a grey card then.

Ahh.. i experienced that too. A very warm and orange effect. Try using Custom WB and use a white card. Better after that.
