Fuji S5Pro For U/W ?

Hi Everyone ,

Has always been using F31 for all my u/w shoot , and Fuji cam has been great .

I'm toying with the idea of using a S5Pro for future dives , any opinion is

greatly appreciated (good or bad is ok) .

And since we are on the topic was thinking of a Ikelite housing for this cam .

Any recommendation of best current market price (US$1400) & place to get it ?

Don't mind a 2nd hand set too ( if anyone is selling ).

Hope to hear from someone soon . Thanks !!!

Are you in the market for both the housing and camera? Because I have both available for sale, as well as ports. Possibly a strobe too.

RSU has sent you a PM.

And hope to hear some feedback from users of S5Pro underwater experience / opinion .

Correct thing to do.... keep whatever deal the 2 of you made between yourself. Don't make this into a Buy/Sell thread.

Hehe , diver-hloc dont want you to close my tread mah .

Havent got any feedback yet leh .

How 'bout you , any experience yourself or friends using S5 for u/w shoot?

How does it compare to like d200 , 50d or even d300 ?

Cheers

Most ppl I know use either Canon or Nikon in Singapore. I, myself, use a old EOS 400D with Ikelite Housing. That could be the reason why you are not getting any info from local divers.

Ok , guess i just have to be patient & hope to see some respond soon .

i have a friend who uses a D200 and S&S housing.. he bought a S5 as a backup and land portrait camera too. his general feedback was the S5 is a slower camera, but otherwise it's more or less the same.

whatever works on land works underwater too.. so all the things you dont like on land will also be present underwater. i dont think there are any S5 specific problems with using it underwater. i could ask him though..

antacid , i gather as much . cause i really love my shots from land use . so if i can reproduce 70% of results underwater it would
be worth the effort already .

so now just wait for offer from my BnS tread for D200/S5pro housing .

well if anybody has sample underwater shots from S5pro , can please post for everyone to view ???

thanks again antacid for feedback !

Didn't you already had an offer earlier ??

If the deal is blown… then it would likely be a very long wait, as I've said… the more commonly available models would be from Canon, Nikon… and even Olympus.

Seems like he's outstation or something , have forward him Pm but no reply yet .

Naw , still waiting for seller's PM . hope he gets back to me soon .

you're welcome.. you will find that the results underwater is very dependent on the lights you have also. i find uw a lot more complex than land photography, with a lot more factors coming into play.

oh, if you search on the forum for Dr Bob, i think his uw pictures are taken with an S5 too.

you're welcome! i think you will find that it might be tougher underwater since a lot more factors come into play.

you can try searching for "dr bob". i think he used to post pictures taken with his S5. you can also google for him.
