Konica Hexar RF has a different back focus point compared to Leica-M / VC Bessa bodies. Hence, the Konica made lenses may not focus accurately on Leica-M or VC bodies. Look at Erwin Putts articles for further details.

That is an already proven red herring, faflse story. Puts is a Leica-writer. Konica and Leica are fully compatible.
The different build of the Konica is because of the motor-transport.
Whatever, the lens is sold.

You are right! Konica lens back focus is diff from Leica. You may get out of focus shots with a tele and more worse if shoot wide-open.
Who told you same??? Pls read more b4 comment!

Rob, no use arguing with these people.

hmm, i dunno about u guys but my 90 summi and my 40summi works beautifully on my new RF!!!!

FYI, Cathay Photo has 2 pieces of this 90mm lens... about S$800++ each new, if i recall.

I know Terence, I know. Just can't resist making a valid point.
I found a very convincing story about all of this at Dante Stella's site.

Believe what you want!

Quoted from Put's site
"If you were to do your own testing and looking at the negatives with an 8-times magnifier, you would not se any drop in resolution (beyond the detection capability of the eye at that magnification). But at a larger magnification you begin to see it quite clearly."

From 8 times magnification onwards then do you BEGIN to see difference.

err...my negs are often drum scanned or done on an imacon flextight at much higer magnifications. The plane of focus wide open is still where i want it to be. More often then not, it is because of my poor focussing.

Btw, puts is a leica man who knows next to zilt beyond his beloved leicas. No offense meant to fondlers but puts is hardly what i'd call an authority on RF designs.

So there is still a problem lo...Seriously I would not spent so much on this Konica optics, rather to get a used Leica one.
Just my 2 cents.
