wow! $18 per hour for photographer…. CheapSnap!

Am I right to assume that the editing time for the 300 photos are part of the 10 working hours?

Can I also enquire on why specifically 300 photos? What extent of editing do you require? Lastly, what genre of assignments does your firm handle, as well as what are the so called morning surcharge and OT rates like?

There are too many uncertainties in your post, mind if you clarify them?

With the rate offered, is it ok if I'm using my most basic DSLR 450D instead of my 1DX?

its wedding shoot i guess..

And if it (full day) wedding, 10 hours will only be just the actual shoot. Videographer has to to same day editing and photographer need to edit 300 photos, it will be more than 10 hours. Those many extra hours consider OT?

Common guys, this is not the first time such ads appears here to look for cheap photography services.
10hrs mostly is wedding
18/hr and submit 300 photos. Editing time not counted as OT. OT is maybe 11hrs (1hr extra if event drags)
Minus off editing time, travel time (twice, to the bride's place and hotel) or maybe 3 times, another trip to submit the photos. That's my interpretation.
You do the math.

" Students are welcomed " ok fair enough .

with the amount being charge to clients
This is what the amount being offer to the "required helpers".
Same day editing for videographers some more
Sad..

CS means Club Snap or CHEAP SERVICE
Guys why killing yourself with cheap service.

Don't worry. There will be taker. I assume more than 1. Even $8 per hour, there is taker . It becomes market rate here ..

Pay cheap shooter $180-220.
Charge clients $1088.
Pocket the rest.

Everyone here started somewhere, but I'm more upset that TS is pocketing such a large margin.

We should collectively take up the offer and creatively mess up, establish a reputation bad enough for this business to wind up.

Not sure what the motive of TS. It is for sure no pro will take this job. Beginner will take the job . The quality will be compromise. But he is willing to accept that . The establish and well known photographer will not take such risk as it is sure die .

That is not good for started up or entry photographer for the industry. Ppl will only look for establish photographer in future .

Nothing you can do in open market with ppl in different mindset..

usually bridal shops offer actual day photography packages come 300 pieces of 4R photos in slot in album.
such jobs are farm out to photographers, bridal shops prefer to deal with one photographer instead of many.
so there are head photographer head sub-con assignments to his own kakis (freelance photogs and part timers).

bridal shops usually pay around $350 for actual day photography service, and about $150 for a slot in album with 300 pieces 4R photos.
so how much the head photographer pays his kakis depends on their skills and experiences.

the style of wedding photography is very traditional, every shoot the bride and groom or the family members most pose properly, look at camera and smile.
and only cover the important ceremony shots, like cover the veil, offer payer to deity, groom unveil the bride, tea ceremony and family group photos. no arty farty or fancy shots.
usually experienced photographers one shot one kill, shoot in JPG and every shots with flash, so when go home after the shoot, can cut a CD of 300 photos with in an hour.

since the way they shoot is so standard, they can shoot three weddings in a row during weekends, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
don't need to get pro body and pro lenses, don't need to meet customers, don't need to do much post production, just hang over the CD and collect cash.

so you do the math yourself.
those who shoot $800 or $1000 actual wedding may earn so much lesser those bridal shop wedding shooters.
