I am actually getting a DPxm revival rather than winding down the camera due to any perceived 'latest and greatest' camera that comes out year after year.

IQ for what it does at low ISO is basically good for many years to come.

With the DP1m.
One of the reasons its hard for most ppl to know what this camera is capable of is that on most forums, we can only post small sized photos.
I left a full size one on my flickr

see to believe the difference.

agree completely with you. that's why i kinda regretted selling off my DP1M and DP2M. but who knows, if one comes along again at bns, i might just get it if budget permits, and with the commander's blessing of course;).

just keep your photos coming, pinholecam, they're great!

Indeed.
I was the same as you.
Tried to sell off the dp1m for the A7.
But then I came to the realisation that it was just not logical.

Here was a camera that makes so much sense when used to its strength.
Detail unmatched by any apsc bayer array based sensor and even most FF ones.
Small size, too.
And I was what? Trying to sell it off at a low price just because the gadget market deems that is "1yr old" and should be sold off for cheap?
When it still beats the new comers in IQ?
Esp when I do a 3frame stitch.... (more than enough resolution for any practical use most folks will ever need)

So I resolved to keep it and use it more instead.

They sure are at very good prices nowadays.

I couldn't have described that better.

Well I fell into that trap to buy the A7r. Not that I'm regretting buying it, it's the dream camera I've been longing for, and thoroughly enjoying it. But there's something that I truly miss from the DPxM photos, their very unique image quality.

I will try and dig up some previous photos from my DP1M and DP2M, and share them here.

Meanwhile, am parked frequently at bns to fish around for good deals.;)

Has this really become a lonely club of one?

I am surprised at how well this stitched up with the panosaurus and the DP1m.
Usually the things like the railings in the foreground would be a major headache to stitch up.

A two-year old photo taken from my former DP2M, just to share. Another point of view from a similar photo i shared here a few pages back. Location is Faroe Islands, shot with dark low-lying clouds, right place at the right time (lucky me).

I was really lucky to have taken that shot at a good vantage point. I also took the same shots from my former X-E1 but did not come out nearly as nice.

Btw it was the DP1M that was used, not DP2M.

Digging for more to share, to help keep this thread alive.

Looks like only a few of us are still loving our DPM's.

For those who have abandoned it and are trying to buy another, i have an image here that hopefully will add to your resolve. Not quite the recent heart stopping landscape images from the likes of tomcat, sthang, pinholecam, lonj49. But hopefully another reminder of the wonderful lens that is this camera. But you need to work on the yellow colour cast as demonstrated here.

Abandoned.

Haha spotted the fly even with my old and poor eyesight, it's right above the tire, at the bottom edge of the tire hood.

Sharp detailed photo.
